I don't think they got paid, in the traditional sense of the word. Maybe they can use their likeness for endorsement deals and get that side hustle money. Cap probably got paid directly through Shield because he worked for them. Rhodey is a cornel so the government is paying him while others don't actually have a day-job.

Yeah I didn't care for Sam when he first appeared in the MCU, felt like he was the standard beta wingman/token black guy
But I like him so far in this series and he has good chemistry with Stan, I think McKie will shine in this now that he doesn't have to play a sidekick anymore
