Despite being 31 years of age, he actually started 12 games in the playoffs of the franchise's run for the 4th ring. Imagine the possibilities if all 31-year old Argies were able to start in the playoffs and what might have been

It's a real shame when fragile players miss the entire playoffs at age 31. Not Fab! :lobt2:

Beast!!! :worthy: Oberto :worthy:
I don't think he ever got his due as a silver n black, tbh...
Real shame his career was cut short with a heart condition. I would take him over Ayres/Baynes in a heartbeat (see what I did there?)

There is a reason Pop can usually get guys to produce. And it's pretty obvious why Pop prefers smart players who are over themselves.

Oberto played really well in the 2007 WCF against Boozer and Okur, 10.2 points 7.8 rebounds, and did a good job on the defensive end in the Finals. But the next season his heart condition didn't allow him to get rhythm and feel comfortable on the court.

He had a crucial basket to close out the Lebrons in Game 4 of the Finals... I still remember it like it was yesterday :cry

The 2007 WCF was a joke. Oberto was lucky he had a prime (somewhat) Tim Duncan by his side. Odom & Gasol took a wet shit on him in 08.

Yeah, Oberto was the shit. Remember that signature screen/through the legs bounce pass he used to do? Plus he had a gold grill.

Re: Celebrating the best 31-year old Argy this team has ever had...
He was alright, fit the team well for a short time. I liked him alot better than Bonner etc. that is for sure. I remember a game against Phoenix when he was a rookie I believe and he went 11-11 or some shit during the regular season? That might have been 08 but I believe he was 11-11 one game and Charles propped him after the game and said that guy is a player.

Oberto was the only argentine spur player to change his game for the best of the team. Wish other argentine spurs would do this tbh
