A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
I know I have been hating on him lately, but I thought he had a great game last night and played the role that suits him perfectly IMO:
20 minutes
5 shot attempts
Going forward, hopefully Pop keeps him in this role, tbh..around 20 MPG and 5 FGAs will maximize his current ability and production..
Perfect role and game for TP:toast

Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
It all depends on matchups. I feel that at least one series in the playoffs, he'll go off.

Yup..
Good game from Tony last night...
Plus, he's doing a better job defending the screens.
hopfully we see more of last night from tony both offensively and defensively.

yup that's what i've seen that's different. He's actually trying to defend :lol and being average at it at least :lol

Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
Agreed. Hopefully this is the beginning of him finally ‘getting over himself’.

Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
Dude is obviously not in shape .hopefully as his minutes get more consistent his play will being to rise but this business of playing a game or two and sitting out a week isn't going to help his play on the floor
-
Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
his minutes are pretty weird. ain't gonna get in game shape that way. I guess Pop trusts Patty and CoJo a lot now, but also a lot falls on Manu

"You're good looking for a fat girl." That's essentially what this thread is. Even if Parker came off the bench, I'd expect him to take more than 5 FGAs...

Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
We didn't even score 90 points :lol
Against the hapless Jazz :lol
Need more than five shot attempts from Tony. Around 15-20 sounds right.

The scoreboard says that the Spurs won by 20 IIRC..that's pretty good IMO..

But that's the same argument people use about the Spurs in last year's playoffs-- they won convincingly against Miami with Parker playing starter's minutes...

Parker was fine against Miami..he had an average series, which was good enough to beat a team that was severely outmatched by the Spurs..

then with the game over and we're up by 20, Parker starts scoring trying to get the finals mvp.

around where he should be at this point in his career. if anyone still thinks he needs touches like it's 2013, they should root for other teams.

Re: A lot of love to Tony Parker, tbh..
Most of Mills' minutes on the floor are alongside Manu: http://www.82games.com/1314/13SAS2.HTM
In these situations, Manu is as much the PG as Patty-- that's one of the reasons it works so well, along with the fact that the other team often has back ups in as well. Giving Patty more minutes would almost definitely mean giving Danny Green fewer minutes. Is that what people want?

As for the OP, I completely agree.Maybe give him 2-3 more shots just to keep his ego in check but that's about it.

His first quarter was even worse. Did a poss poor job running the offense resulting in the Heat having a 16 point lead at one point. Went 0-10 in the first half IIRC. Thankfully, Manu and MVPatty came in to save the day.
