Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Aldridge is out for 6-8 weeks so the odds of Timmy making it now are quite high? Yes or no?
It would tie him with Malone for the 3rd oldest player to ever get selected. With Kareem and Jordan being 1 and 2.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Please no.
Let him stay home with the kids.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
The National Media have been on the "Kawhi is the spurs best player" bandwagon..
he's not going to make it over his own teammate kawhi Leonard specially after a poor performance on National TV.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
He probably deserves it for still being ultra efficient at his age but better to just stay at home and rest

Oh Jesus Christ, they are not even competing for the same position.
Let all our guys stay home, the game is a joke, it's horrible.

They are both Frontcourt players, dummy.
Jesus..Do you even watch basketball?
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
I hope not. He needs time off, tbh.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Just let him rest, peeople already gave him the back in 2012.

So you want KL to replace Aldridge? You want him to risk a hand injury in a game that does absolutely nothing to our record?
Fck it. Let all our players stay home.
Why do I even bother with you?

Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
He should go, just so he can at least have one game this season with an above average PG next to him...

Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Even if he goes he will probably just play 2-3 mins and run down the court 4-5 times and call it a night.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
No please. He needs to rest at home.

Ya but its still the plane flights, suiting up, warm ups, getting nauseated watching Kirby etc.
All Star Game is a joke. Not befitting of Timmy Dunks.
Agree with the "stay home and rest" posters.

How far is Kawhi's dick in your mouth. Are you secretly his mom or his girlfriend. Its a 50-50 shot he gets in because he missed a lot of games. Duncan has a chance to get in over him simply because he played in the most spur games so far this season and granted the spurs were .500 without Kawhi; Duncan was the reason why the spurs didn't fall below .500 in his absence. You can make an argument for either one being worthy to get in.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
he should make it, it's also the last chance to see him there.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
I hope he gets to stay at home. Same goes for Leonard.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Obviously, timmy has a good chance to make his 15th time All Star apperance with Lamarcus Aldridge's sidelne. The whole world agrees on picking James Harden, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Lamarcus Aldridge and Demarcus Cousins to the West All Star Reserves.
The remaining 2 positions will be fought by Chris Paul, Dirk Nowitzki, Russel Westbrook , Kevin Durant as well as Timmy Duncan,

Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
I don't want any Spurs to go, not to the game not to any of the silly competitions(3pt, skills, slam dunk lol). Stay home rest and get focused for the second half of the season and playoffs.

Just about all of these guys have Duncan on their list

-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Nice that he is getting recognition but I hope he doesn't make it unless he's guaranteed no more than a minute of playing time. :lol
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Some CBS experts picked only Duncan from the San Antonio Spurs team as probable reserve.
They are the reigning champs. And Aldridge's injury will increase his chances of getting an invite.
He will be there.

Well Kerr is going to be the coach and given his respect for Pop and the Spurs, I'm sure he'd be very accommodating about giving Duncan as few or as many minutes as Duncan wanted.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
BTW, I really hope he makes it. The all-star break is a week long this year and it's a well deserved accomplishment for Duncan. All-Star at age 38! Not many have done that.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Rumor :Tim Duncan will replace Lamarcus Aldridge for the reserve
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
I think he's going to go unfortunately.

I think Timmy and Pop would disagree with you. The ASG is one event way from a 3 ring circus.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Meh Spurs fans can say all star accolades don't matter all they want but to the majority of causal NBA fans, the number of all star appearance is still a deciding factor in a player's legacy. Should be a good thing if Duncan makes it to the game. This might be his last year, let him play with the NBA's elite one more time. And isn't the all star break now one week? Playing 15 minutes during a one week break isn't going to kill him.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Tim would do it for the fans. Just make a guest appearance... he wont say no
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
actually this isnt a fan vote. I would be happy if he rested
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Duncan is making his 15th.time appearance
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Who will pick the replacement for Kobe?
Commissioner or Kerr?
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Duncan not being selected last year was a great blunder by the NBA. The league knows it, Duncan knows, Pop, everyone. They all have their own reasons for not acknowledging the elephant in the room.
Duncan is way too proud to complain. But don't believe for a minute that the was glad just to take the weekend off. Duncan knows the history of the NBA way more than most payers and he cares about his place in it.
The All Star Game is a joke but making the All Star team matters. People seem to confuse the two.

Rapper is talking out of his ass, about a lot of things. LMA scored 38 points and had 11 rebounds last night.

Too bad Kawhi couldn't nab it. Probably won't even get recognition.

Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Duncan to turn down ASG bid to attend backyard BBQ with Joey Crawford.
Film at 11.

Honestly just curious, what makes you think Pop would not rather he avoid injury in a meaningless game or that Tim would not rather spend the extra time with his kids?
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Even Brandon Jennings said on twitter Tim should get in.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
Looks like Duncan has made the All-Star team for the 15th time!

I remember Tim taking his daughter to a game (before his son was born) and talking about how cool it was that his daughter could see her dad's picture on the side of a building.
So, as much as his public persona is "I don't care about any of this", I think he cares greatly and is aware of his legacy, and I think he would like to take his two children to see him in what I expect is his last All Star game.
-
Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
:lol 10mins in the All Star game will be fine tbh.
Congrats to the best player of his generation......

Good points, now that they are older they can also enjoy the weekend as well. Plus he's got a cute babysitter to come along too :D

Re: Timmy going to the All-Star game?
:worthy: Timmy
Making all star teams at 38 years old. Unreal.
