Saw Mark Jackson every week last season and he does rush the passer very well but he needs work against the run and on his technique. It will be interesting to see how he builds up over the summer and how much better he is his senior year. And keep your ears open for Steele's next QB, Xavier Martin (class of 17), who will make a name for himself quickly. He has a great arm and 4.4 speed.

Ya, Gotta love the Steele program and how well they represent the SA area..Another QB you will hear for long, long time is Julon williams from converse judson. Kid led Judson to the state semi's as a Freshman and is class of 2018, crazy...Posted a video and remember this kid was only freshman during these highlights..

He was amazing.....a 3rd string Freshman QB thrown into the fray because of season ending injuries in back to back weeks to the top 2 QBs. Honestly, he is a special player. Judson struggled mightily to begin the season and dealt with tons of turnovers, bad penalties, and just poor offensive execution. This kid comes in and turns it all around instantly. IMO, he is the reason we went as far as we did. He is a very special player. He can throw, he can run, he is a field general, he has so much poise and maturity, and he definitely has that "IT" that great players have, something I haven't felt since the days of the great Jerod Douglas.

BTW, Judson should have beat Steele last season, that was one helluva game. If you are a HS football fan in the SA area, you need to find a way to make the Judson/Steele game. It always seems to come down to the final drive. Unfortunately, Steele always come out on top.

Oregon is not the only suitor attempting to bring Vernon Adams to campus.

UCLA and Texas have each registered interest in Adams, the Eastern Washington quarterback who can graduate and transfer to play immediately for a fifth season of eligibility in 2015, according to his high school coach Dean Herrington.

Herrington, who has coached at Bishop Alemany in Mission Hills, California, for nine seasons, said he's fielded calls from the schools since Oregon's pursuit of Adams became well-known.

"They both want him," Herrington said in a phone interview, adding that he believes Adams' decision will nonetheless come down to the Ducks and Eagles.

Adams took an official visit to Oregon the last weekend of January. After he returned to Cheney, Washington, he told 247Sports earlier this week that he could decide as early as Monday whether to stay at Eastern, where his blend of passing and running has made him runner-up for the Walter Payton award for FCS player of the year two consecutive seasons.

Eastern Washington coach Beau Baldwin said Wednesday that he will meet with Adams on Monday to discuss his options. He hopes to find out sometime soon after where the quarterback stands.

"It'll be sooner rather than later," Baldwin told the Spokesman-Review. "We're definitely not trying to drag this out for weeks."

Both the Bruins and Longhorns have blue-chip quarterbacks on their roster, but they are young. Five-star freshman Josh Rosen has already enrolled at UCLA, while four-star dual-threat QB Kai Locksley sent Texas his letter of intent on Wednesday.

The Ducks have offered Adams a scholarship but no guarantee of starting. He would be one more quarterback in an already packed competition, joining junior-to-be Jeff Lockie, sophomores Taylor Alie and Ty Griffin, redshirt freshman Morgan Mahalak and true freshman Travis Waller.

Adams is said to graduate this spring from Eastern, meaning he'd miss Oregon's spring practices but be available by summer.

Some of you might remember QB Seth Green from Minnesota, who camped at Texas at the QB camp last year. He liked Texas a lot, but committed to Oregon back in October. Apparently he is transferring to Texas to play his last season of high school. Rumored to go to Allen.

I believe his first start was against steele. He is the real deal. Judson also has some players on the defensive side, including Jonte Turner (LB).

These programs have played each other five times with Steele winning each one but every game was extremely close, especially last year. Both teams will have a great chance to win state next season (Steele at division II and Judson at division I). What I love is how they support one another. When I was at the Brandeis/Steele game, the Judson team was there pulling for Steele and the Cibolo community has huge respect for the rockets.

I was hoping Rackley would stay on one more year, and then hand the reins over to MJ. However, that didn't happen. Rackley retired a year earlier, We hired Smith, and then MJ went on to coach at TT. It has all worked out though, as Sean Mc did a very nice job in his rookie season. I hope he can continue to build on his success and bring us home another State Ship. Now, if they would only go back to the pre-Mark Smith uniforms.

BTW, I do really like our new district. Judson, Wagner, Steele, Clemens, NB, NB Canyon, and Smithson Valley.....

We're definitely in the recruiting hangover right now. News is slow.

24/7 had a coaching update this morning that basically said Strong will hire Clint Hurtt for the open DL position as long as Texas approves it.

Hurtt still has a show-cause penalty in place until Fall 2015 from his days at Miami. He is currently with the Chicago Bears.

Im gonna tell you I'm good.

Many of you guys did a lot of work. I was a parasite and enjoyed every blood sucking minute of it. Now when I really got sick was once I realized how bad our offense was. That offense caused shingles followed by a bout of aeombic dysentery. But I got better, until I found out we had to play a bowl game.

Mastrogiovanni was god awful. Got passed up on the DC by true freshman Josh Walker during the middle of the year last season. Our LB depth is pretty bad right now but he was unlikely to be a contributor.

Yeah, I know he played but my point was he sucked and was on his way to being replaced. No way was he going to fit into the mold of the LB Chavis prefers.

If he likes both sports equally then he should. I think you can make a lot more money in baseball and have a longer career in the sport as well. Plus, you can avoid the high risk on concussions from all the hits QBs take in the NFL.
