Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
I can't say I've ever seen UT so low in recruiting rankings on Rivals. 59?
I know it's because of only 8 commits but damn. Are they gonna crack the top 25 by signing day?

I'm willing to bet they'll be in the Top 20 easy, unless they absolutely bomb and don't make a bowl.
Most of their highly-ranked targets won't be making a decision until 2016.

Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
I'm willing to bet Texas ends up with another top 10 class.
Texas will take
1 RB probably a 4-star
2-3 Olinemen at lease one will be a 4-star
1 more WR guaranteed to be a 4-star
2 more DTs both likely to 3-star but maybe one will be 4-star by signing day.
1-2 DE both will be 4-star
2 Linebackers both will be 4-star
2-3 DBs all should be 4 star.
When it is all said and done I expect a full class of about 22 - 25 signees with 12 to 14 being 4-star kids.

Im fine with whatever if we can get football players. Hager was a 3 star and Strong is talking him up as the type of player he is looking for. Although a few more Malik types could go a long way as well. Patterson has found gems among lower rated recruits so why can't Strong and staff...
I want good teammates that are football players. I'm tired of just waving away guys like Drew Brees.

TCU will be tough to beat but I suppose this is a positive sign for Texas?
This is really good for Texas, the longer he goes the better chance Texas has of making a big impression.

I'm originally from the midwest and that's the only test a lot of kids take.

From what I've read, the NCAA doesn't believe it's a legit score.
Hopefully he'll enroll at a prep school for one semester, get the test score he needs and move to Austin in January '16.

He should gray shirt. Best case scenario, a redshirt.

The good news is he won't lose any eligibility should he go through a prep school.
If he somehow gets into UT this fall after re-taking the test, I wonder if the coaches would still try to use him.

Note to Devo (if you're reading this): DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT score higher than a 26 on this test or the NCAA may never let you go to college. Apparently, they don't like smarter athletes.

I should follow up and say they think a UT offer would change things despite his commitment to OK State.

Right, they're suspicious of him being too smart.
If it was a legit test score, he should be extremely pissed. Where's the anger?

He's been pissed for weeks and weeks now, I know since I follow him on snapchat. However in the past week he has seemed defeated. I understand an athlete cheating isn't out of the question but having him retake the test based on pure suspicion seems completely unfair.

I haven't been following this closely... what is the issue with his score? Too high? What does that mean? They think it was inconsistent with his GPA or what?

way out of line with everything else.

Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
can you cheat on the ACT? Outside of having someone else smarter than you take the test for you or someone feeding you the answers how is it possible to cheat?
Most of the time if you know how the test works you can take it and do well.
EXAMPLE - I took the FINRA Series 7 exam a few years ago. First time I took it was was prepared but I misjudged my time and ended up running out of time for part 1. I missed on passing it by 3 pts. I retook the exam a month later, my knowledge didn't improve that much but I used better judgement in taking the exam and for both Part 1 and Part 2 I finished with over 40 minutes and I blew the test away getting an 89%. I didn't get smarter, i just understood going in what that test was and used good strategy in my test taking skills.
He can do the same. I believe he has taken the test twice now, so this third time will be the same.
Good luck to him.
