Hearing Pettigrew may flip to UT. He doesn't think we throw the ball to our TE's enough. And he's right.

Wednesday 7:40 am per Burton 24/7
No decision yet

Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
It's time to move on. He's obviously waiting for the OU job to open up. We're holding our ricks right now. It's not that difficult a decision.

Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
OrangeBloods reporting Tulsa Co-OC, Sterlin Gilbert, is in Austin this morning meeting with Strong.

It reminds me of a golf clap pro team atmosphere vs college rowdy atmosphere.

10:05 am Per Burton 24/7
Strong did interview Gilbert this morning.
Extended contract negotiations has delayed the decision so Strong needed to basically make a move.
BURTON SAYS HE WAS TOLD STRONG WILL HIRE AN OC BEFORE FRIDAY.

Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
OrangeBloods believes there is a third OC candidate in the mix, but no names have been given.
-
Re: 2016 Texas Longhorns Recruiting Thread
Scout claiming a breakdown occurred when Cumbie wanted three years guaranteed and UT would only give two.
I'm not buying that personally, but that's what they're reporting.

The guy Higdons been hinting about? He keeps saying the media takes one name and runs with it. Sterlin Gilbert is his 1A and Cumbie was 2. He won't say who 1B is. Same candidate maybe?

Orangebloods reporting if Sterlin Gilbert takes job, expect the OL coach to be Matt Maddoxx of Tulsa.

The major breakdown happened because Cumbie wanted 3 yrs guaranteed and Texas was only willing to give 2. Cumbie would not take the job without 3 yrs and Texas was never going to give 3.

Sounds like a little spin because Cumbie turned UT down, imo.
Since Perrin took over, we've been told he's 100% behind Strong and will give him whatever he needs (specifically for an OC).
But we all of a sudden pull back because of a million dollars?
