Wow. A tiny part of me wants to feel bad for the kid and shame on whoever was -- or wasn't -- advising him. Hopefully he can correct his behavior and still make something of his opportunity to attend school for free.
I'm glad the NCAA stuck to their guns and denied the appeal. I can't imagine what sort of recruiting debacle this would have set had they not.
I really feel bad for the kid, because he has received some bad advise, and poor parenting. I think his mom comes across as caring for her son, but she needs to let him grow up, and be a man.
I like that Texas has stuck to their guns with this, not because I wish ill on this kid, but because he needs grow up and face the consequences of his actions.

Per 24/7, DT Gerald Wilbon of Destrehan, LA says he plans on taking his five official visits, starting with Texas Tech on September 4th.
The main reason this one is worth watching is he really wants to stay at DT, but Texas likes him at OG as well.
He will also see Arizona, ASU and UCF.
"I don't think I'm going to flip my commitment," Wilbon said. "I'm pretty firm on Texas. I'm probably 90 to 95 [percent committed]. It would take a lot to make me decide to go to another school.”
