Anybody here got it yet? I just got mine and am downloading the update on with my crappy internet connection. The reviews have been good, which doesn't really matter to me since I was with the Souls game since Demon's Souls.

I've seen a lot of people talking about it on other tech forums, but don't know shit about it tbh.. Is it related to the Dark Souls games?
I played the second one, and couldn't get into it..the game play just seemed very linear, and I'm not a glutton for punishment like some of these others that want extreme difficulty. I got enough sadism in my gaming career during the Genesis and SNES eras, back when I couldn't beat the majority of the games I owned because they were all so god damn hard back then.
The thing is, a lot of those games from the 8 and 16 eras were difficult because they were cheap. Enemies suddenly flashing onscreen giving you a millisecond of response time unless you've got the movement memorized is cheap.
The DS games, OTOH, punish you for being lazy/sloppy or being too aggressive. You have to learn to balance your ability to attack, defend, and dodge. It's a much "fairer" method of difficulty. If you die on the Souls' games, it's usually your fault because you screwed the pooch in some way.
I appreciate the difficulty. It makes you feel like you've really accomplished something the first time you drop a boss. That's pretty rare in gaming nowadays.
Shit... if there was such a thing as a gamer resumé, I would gladly put beating Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 & 2 on there. I've noticed the action in Bloodborne is a lot faster than those other three games. They've also gotten rid of the shield for your left hand and instead have given you a gun which means you can't cautiously inch your way through the game like you would with the other games in the series. My first play throughs of those other games involved me getting the best armor and shields and having my shield up most of the game. Makes me wonder how different the tension is with having a gun there. Anyway, sign me up. I'm in.
Heard this game is extremely difficult.
I like a challenging game but there is a point where a game stops being a game and more of a pain in the ass.
It looks a LOT like Nightmare Creatures, one of the OG games for PS1, which was a great game.
I think the last one I played was the one with that other kickass character. The other ninja, not the female.
He got some sick moves. I think that's the first game that started showing the bone breaking.
After that I lost complete touch with the series.
Cleric Beast was piss-easy.
Father Gascoigne was kind of hard. He made me run through all my blood vials and realize that I should actually utilize the regen system instead of running away and healing every time I took a hit. I think I might love this game.
it's basically dark souls jack the ripper but you heal if you hit them again like a reaper.
strategic button smashing almost. fucking weird.
I've beaten the Last of Us on grounded mode and it's hard to imagine anything being as daunting after that so I will probably buy this game
Fuck the Blood Starved Beast and its fucking poison and fucking one hit kills. Fuck him up his stupid ass.
Long load times are gone! Thank you based update!
Okay, now that I found the original thread... :lol
How are y'all liking this game? Some parts are pretty fucking hard tbh. Just beat the Shadows of Yarnham, that shit took forever
Also does anyone got the whole Chalice dungeon thing figured out? I get I can create dungeons but don't fully grasp it yet tbh
:lol
Game has a good story if you decide to jump into the lore and read. That young girl from central yharnam looking for his mum was a such a sobering part of the game.
Story - 8
Gameplay - 10

9.5 Game!
Damn this game is epic already and I'm only in the first area. Gotta be the second best PS4 exclusive.
Lol I gave this game a 9.5 but only got half way through. :lol
Doesn't take away from the greatness of the game though. Just requires too much dedication. I tried playing it like i did with Dragon age and play every in the weekend.
But you miss a whole week and felt like my game deteriorated. Just not a game for someone that might play a game here and there.
Sad to say..because this game easily is one of the top 10 games I have played in the last 10 years.
Btw, the dark souls series has really influenced some of the most recent games in gameplay etc...
Games like Horizon Dawn, even witcher 3, and looks like the New God of war too have a more simple but skill reliant gameplay...it seems like from the trailer
Probably the best thing about BloodBorne. Your characters heavily relies on the players skillsets. I've seen gameplay footage of bare naked players beating boses I couldnt beat unless I leveled up like crazy. :lmao
You can get through the game using any single starting weapon you want, but there is no fun in that. Keep upgrading the cleaver until you get Ludwig's Holy Blade. Or you can use the Kirkhammer, which you should have by now. Just keep acquiring weapons until you find one you like the most. You'll be able to customize every weapon with blood gems eventually.
My favorite late-game weapons are Tonitrus, Chikage and Amygdalan Arm.
Nah I'm a completionist, and I have been checking every nook and cranny in Central Yharnam, so all I have is the cleaver and the spear you get off the dead body you cut down above the sewers. That has to be the greatest opening level ever in a game. I fucked up and attacked Eileen the Crow thinking she was an enemy and get wrecked by her every time now. I guess I'll have to save her missions for a NG+ :lol
Bend over, I'll show you a completionist
That's kind of anti-climactic: in Old Yharnam I had this fucker shooting at me with a gatling gun from on top of a tower. I finally got up the tower and the guy just kept kicking my ass. I'd get his health low and he'd reheal and start throwing molotovs at me and shit. Finally I saw he was standing on the edge of the tower at the beginning of one of my attempts at killing him so I just shot him a few times with the pistol. Knocked the fucker right off to his death. :lol
This guy and Eileen the Crow were so much harder than the two bosses I have fought. Well, until I killed him with that cheap shit. :lol
And the best part is, you should have left both of them alone. :lol
I ran into Eileen the Crow really early when I didn't have the control scheme down and instead of hitting X to talk to her like I wanted I hit Square and threw a molotov in her face. Since the game autosaves every single time you do anything there was no way to go back to when she wasn't aggressive. Gotta say trying to fight her at level 2 was pretty funny. I think she was way harder to kill than Father Gascione.
How do you not fight the the guy in the tower though? That fucker was always shooting his gatling gun at me and making getting anywhere in Old Yharnam a bitch. Was he shooting at me because I killed Eileen or something?
Is it preferable to gain insight whenever possible? I noticed after going from 10 to 15 insight some of the enemies in Cathedral Ward got stronger attacks. I have like 7-8 Madman Knowledge that I'm not sure if I want to use. :lol
Late game, high insight becomes a problem in Nightmare Frontier or when fighting Winter Lanterns. Other than that, there really isn't a difference.
Ah man that's annoying. So this guy snatched me up in a sack in Cathedral Ward and dropped me in a prison which was hard as fuck, but it turned out to be an awesome place to farm. So I found a lantern to light and went back to Hunter's Dream to upgrade my weapon with the twin shards those fuckers dropped. Then I find out I can't go back to this prison from Hunter's Dream, and I can't get that fucker to kidnap me again at Cathedral Ward so I can go back.
I commend you for doing a blind playthrough. You'll miss a whole lot of shit doing a blind playthrough in a From Software game.
I'm not doing a blind playthrough, as I read about leveling (so that I don't put any points in endurance after 40, for example) and some basics like parrying and that I had to go get killed by Cleric Beast before I could level. But I don't want to read walkthroughs (other than the Cleric Beast thing when I was ready to smash/sell the game out of frustration).
Shit, can you kill the doll? I was standing behind her and set my controller down, which pressed the right trigger and thus let off my strong attack right into her back. Thankfully it didn't kill her, but it took most of her health. :lol
LOL that pervert in the wheelchair inside telling me I should go play with the doll.
Man Vicar Amelia has to be the easiest boss I have faced so far. Just throw an urn of oil, spam molotovs, use fire paper, and stay close and hack the bitch to death with the cleaver. So much easier than the Blood Starved Beast or Father Gascione, and a bit easier than even Cleric Beast. She is the only boss I have beaten on the first try so far. Eileen the Crow has still been by far my most difficult kill in this game, though I'm sure it'll get a lot worse later on by this game's reputation.
LOL just beat Darkbeast Paarl on the first try too, but it was a way harder fight than Vicar Amelia and I barely survived.
Have you fought the trio of assholes yet? Can't remember what part that's at
PS4 apprentice race, what's up
Man Martyr Logarius was just wrecking me last night.
:lmao
First person shooters are much better on PC because of the ability to use mouse and keyboard. Games are cheaper on PC. You don't have to pay to play online on PC. Backwards compatibility isn't an issue on PC, I can play games released on it dating back all the way to the early 1980s with very few exceptions. I can use an XBox 360 controller on PC. It's bigger and more comfortable to use than the Dualshock 4, and has way better battery life. Even turning that stupid light down to the minimum doesn't give the Dualshock 4 much battery life. PC is better because I can upgrade it when games struggle on it, which they always do on consoles at the end of the generation. I can play at native 1440p or 4k and/or at 144 fps if I have the hardware. I can play on a 21:9 aspect ratio if I want. I can use GSync or FreeSync monitors to have the monitor output frames in sync with the gpu rendering them so I don't have to deal with tearing that uncapped framerates introduce or with the input lag that vsync brings. I can hook up three monitors for surround gaming if I'm into racing games or flight simulators. I have way more freedom to game how I want to on PC.
The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy XV can't even keep a locked 30 fps. And even though the game is incredible, Bloodborne can't either. Man I wish they put this out on PC because I have the hardware to easily run the game at 60 fps. Uncharted 4 runs at 30 fps. So does Rise of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield 1 MP, Watch Dogs 2, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, Dying Light, and pretty much every other big budget game. I can run all of those at 60 fps on PC and the gap is definitely night and day. I know Nioh supports a 60 fps mode thankfully, but it also drops to 720p to do it.
I don't know where you're getting the idea the PS4 can run games at 60 fps. It can't for the most part. The cpu in the PS4 (as well as PS4 Pro and XBox One/XBox Scorpio) is dogshit. This garbage Jaguar cpu is hugely weaker than the $65 Intel G4560, for example. It's massively weaker than even low end cpus from 2013 when it launched, such as the AMD FX-6300. I like the PS4 because ultimately I care about the games first and foremost, but I wouldn't even think of buying games for it that I can run on PC. I only buy exclusives. PC is a far superior platform if you're willing to spend more money upfront on the far better hardware.
And now you can actually buy a really killer gaming PC for $100 more than a PS4 Pro. This has a slightly better gpu than the PS4 Pro. The CPU is worlds better, and puts 60 fps gaming on the table for most big budget AAA releases. It also has a faster hard drive than the PS4 Pro. And this is about $30 more than the price should be, as the cpu and motherboard are a little overpriced right now because of the popularity of the just released Pentium G4560.

Is there ever much use for high bloodtinge in this game? It doesn't affect whether or not you can setup stun into visceral attacks with a pistol or blunderbuss, does it? That's just timing isn't it?
So nioh ( Dark souls and bloodborne clone) fails to achieve the same success and reviews as the fromsoftwarw game. Good game still..
Your boys at IGN gave it a 9.6 :lol

Hunter's Nightmare is a big step up in difficulty even compared to the chalice dungeons I have done so far. You gotta play this shit like Central Yharnam in the beginning. :lol
Fuck man, Orphan of Kos is difficult. I had him like 3-4 hits away from death on maybe my third attempt and haven't even gotten close to that on my five or six subsequent attempts. :pctoss
Ummm... what?

Holy fucking shit, the complete edition of Bloodborne is $17.49 on the Playstation Store.
this happened to me too. i have no clue wtf was happening. those dudes with the sacks hit like a truck. that whole area was fucking eerie, with those weird little witches that have these really high pitched screams when they die.
i was playin a couple nights ago and my wife woke up from the noise and told me to turn that shit down :lmao
