Interesting...would be nice if he's a capable backup SF at this point. Saves us having to go out and find someone for the minimum. I guess they'd try KA at the 2, although him guarding SGs could be problematic.
Also saw that Nate Wolters will be playing with us...he showed some signs of promise in Philly, no?
edit: errr, Milwaukee, not Philly - think I was mixing him up with Tony Wroten :lol

Interesting that Hanga and Thomas aren't on there. Guess that says something for their long term prospects.

I like Wolters. He's a big PG who's scrappy. Wouldn't be a horrible guy to put next to Mills.

For different reasons. Hanga probably will never get to the NBA. Thomas would get a few chances, I think, but he has a really good chance to be an elite player in Europe.

Vegas roster is a little different.

If Eddie can find his shooting form from early last season before injury, he might be a poor man's Marco replacement.

Re: 2015 Spurs Summer League Thread
Wolters would be a solid third point guard.
If Davies can make threes on a reliable basis, the rest of his game is good enough to be an NBA player.

Isn't hitting threes the only criterion for making the Spurs from the summer league roster?

Davies does seem like a solid add.

Re: 2015 Spurs Summer League Thread
Happy to see Davies and Wolters there.
I know it's summer league but really impressed with the rosters they put together. :tu

It is a little weird though that the spurs still have/allow Hanga to come train for a week or two every summer at the practice facility and yet never play in the summer league.
Is this some kind of long term play to eventually use him as a scout/liaison for these developing euro countries like Hungary? Or is he still a faint possibility?

Re: 2015 Spurs Summer League Thread
Crazy that LJC is the youngest player on the roster, though.

Re: 2015 Spurs Summer League Thread
Barring some Nealesque breakout performance, I don't see a ton of potential in the rosters outside of the draft picks. Not a bad thing though.

Maybe based on merit, but the Spurs have a number of open roster spots and no money allocated to fill them. Someone has to be the third PG if Cory moves on. They'll need another two-guard even if Manu comes back. Fifth or sixth big? I think at least two of these guys will get camp invites.

With a LA signing, Spurs are beggars and need to fill in the roster with minimum deals. So any stiff here that shows a pulse may just be good enough.

The Spurs are not limited to these rosters when choosing players for training camp.

Uh.... do you see any available centers in free agency that'll take the minimum?
Maybe you aren't following the news... Spurs have ZERO centers.

Re: 2015 Spurs Summer League Thread
Nice looking rosters this year. It's kinda nice you can actually get a little more excited too since the Spurs have some room on the in roster to potentially bring a couple of players in for an extended look if they play well...both from their team and others.
