Their moves have shown they are still ready to not take a step back IMO. Sure they lost Batum, but he was up and down. They lost Wes, but he may never be the same anyways.
They replaced Wes/Batum with Aminu/Henderson/Vonleh/Plumlee/Ed Davis - I don't see that being a step back especially if LMA/RL both re-sign.
Batum when healthy was very good IMO and Wes was out late last year I know but he also was a key part to the team. I think they took a few steps back losing the, if Lopez bolts forget it. I thought LMA said he was not returning to Portland already? I don't see why he would go back there honestly but you never know (That 5th year maybe does it).
I agree on that last part, if they both re sign they are not much worse off, infact they are about even with last year IMO.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Still a long way to go, but Markieff/Tucker/multiple 1sts is a great offering for Aldridge.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Tyson Chandler must give great head, tbh.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
To be honest, Spurs made a bigger cap clearing move, and that didn't mean we got a commitment. It's a two horse race still.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
If LMA passes on the Spurs, they need to roll up their sleeves, get David West, and win another title.

Exactly, it works to free up money for LA (or some other free agent) and if that fails they can use the picks for rebuilding.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
The Suns have cleared $20M in salary cap space, allowing them to potentially sign LaMarcus Aldridge without the need for a sign-and-trade.
