The second meeting is supposed to be "all basketball" after the previous presentation was trying to sell him on endorsements, Hollywood, etc. Not inviting Kobe to a meeting about nothing but basketball speaks volumes about that franchise. The Spurs equivalent would be like holding a meeting about basketball and leaving Pop and Tim out, and only inviting RC, Holt, and Eva Longoria.

Fuck, Phoenix got someone to take Marcus Morris, Danny Granger, and Reggie Bullock? I can't believe Detroit took that crap. Now they can easily deal Markieff Morris and make someone take PJ Tucker's worthless ass to get the full capspace needed for LMA. They have already completed the hard part of the salary dump. And waiting for Aldridge has now cost the Spurs Monroe and Morris.

But, yeah, LMA saying ":cryBUT MOMMY, I DON'T WANNA PLAY CENTER:cry" makes me question his testicular fortitude, to put it kindly.
If that is truly the issue then, yeah, if he doesn't sign we probably shouldn't be that down about it.
If he does sign, he better learn to get over it.

Not that the Suns are making any noise, or the Lakers sniffing the playoffs if they do attract him. Or Portland for that matter.

Someone get David West on the phone and see just how little money he cares to make.

One final point on West. Don't think of him individually and where he's at in his career, think of how well he'd fit on this team and who's role he'd be replacing. People will say Splitter, but it's really Baynes/Bonner. Koufos, O'Quinn, etc., will replace Splitter and they'll rejig the big rotation accordingly.
As far as Aldridge goes, he probably has concerns about the pecking order, long term sustainability as a contender and who'd be the starting C after Duncan retires.
if any team can claim the ability to be good long term it's the Spurs. second nothing stops him from signing a 3 year deal, in fact it's what I expected from the start.

Spurs should just go after LeBron... screw it. He hasn't signed with Cleveland yet.

I'm sure Pop said, "Draymond Green played center in the finals. Do you want to play in the finals?"

That's the nice thing about this situation. If LMA doesn't sign, then okay he probably didn't value winning as much as needed or was going to be whiny about playing center or whatever.
Better to find out now about LMA then after he's signed, tbh.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Fucking hell, they passed on Monroe, Lopez, Chandler, and now they might not get LMA. :pctoss
