It's all on how hard he worked during the offseason to shore up his game. I think having a taller guy who can handle the ball and run the team is going to be valuable going forward without Manu. I think the characterizations about his speed are overblown. I guess we'll find out pretty soon.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Given another 2 weeks or so this thread could legitimately reach 1000 pages. Don't think that's a good thing.

The team seems high on him. I expect him to be getting a lot of minutes and make the rotation but not break-out. If anything, I think he replaces Marco's spot.

If by some miracle we get LMA and West, who else would would the Spurs go after that is realistic?

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
If we hit 200 then LaMarcus will be a Spur. So it is written

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
I think the sixers are the perfect team for Aldridge. No lack of bigman to play center there.

Good for Marco. Brother earned his ring and his tattoo.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
19 million over 3 for Marco, 45 over 4 for Danny...
See what a difference a little "D" can do?

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Happy for Marco. He gets paid and gets to chuck away on a shitty team.

Sacramento got a much better deal than Portland with their $30 million for Aminu.

So if LMA goes and asks Pop's questions to a bunch of other teams (which would be indicated if his questions were unusually poignant for a FA) that means he already trusts and buys into Pop. It also means Pop can simultaneously convince LMA that SA is the best fit, AND use him for some intelligence-gathering on other teams.
CIA Pop indeed.
So all you quivering nancies can just settle down. This is all of Day 3 in free agency. If the Spurs get their man, fantastic. If they don't, life will go on.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Spurs already lost 3 good role players. Aldridge better comes.

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Spurs losing depth (Marco, Baynes, Splitter, possibly Manu) LMA better sign or we will almost certainly be a weaker team (at least in the short run).
Also, we're almost out of foreign white guys!!! :lol

Re: Marc Stein: Spurs are #1 on LaMarcus Aldridge's list
Sorry if I missed it, but did Pop already have the second meeting with LMA today?
