Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
Could have made a better team had they done that trade. Could have made one too had they just not fucked up the rest of the off-season, though.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
There's so much to regret about this year's team, that's nowhere on the list.
-
Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
DDR is not the problem. The problem is how the team is put together full of 2nd and 3rd string guards, and no one with a clue on how to play defense.

Kemba+ Danny> DeRozan and Forbes.

How did we not at least demand Delon Wright?

For the 7th seed and another sweep in the playoffs. Like I said, as far as ceiling goes there's not much difference. Plus it's hard to say whether Contract Danny would be playing this well in SA. He's fighting for his livelihood in Toronto, here he had grown comfortable and stale.

DDR ain't great. He was only an all-star because the East has been a shit tier conference for most of the past decade. If you want to see his true value, just look at his performances in the post-season. Historically bad for a supposed "star" player. Even leaving playoff hiccups out of the picture, he's an incredibly flawed player. A wing in the modern NBA should be able to play defense or shoot the three ball and he does neither. If you're going to be a one-way player, you better be a damn good one like Harden.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
Demar would’ve been okay, but not in todays basketball where 3 pointers outscore mid-range shooting and no defense. It still could be fixed with defensive shooting guard LW4 hopefully and 3nD Huestis or Moore. Play 3 guards in the 2nd unit, White, Forbes and Mills

This. DeRozan’s great. Virtually no one else is and that’s our problem.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
No regrets. Imagine if Kawhitter was still holding this team hostage we would be much worse off. This is more a result of injuries, poor guard play, loss of Parker and Manu. We have no wheels. Gasol should probably retire as well. Things do not make sense now as expected but they will start to with the right moves...either a trade, free agent pickup, or draft pick.

the only one i regret is the one with boston.

Had they swapped in Gasol for Green, the deal would've been fine- all things considered.
Getting an all-star, solid prospect in Poeltl and a 1st while shedding Gasol's deal along with the Cold Nephew would have been fine but PATFO didn't do that of course.
-
Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
Why would the Raptors want Gasol? PATFO made their bed and have to lie in it. The Raptors pulled of a heist. They were able to do a salary dump of DDR's contract and get better. Also they had no use for Poetl. Now they're relying on Ibaka/JV for center minutes which has helped improve Ibaka's game.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
I kept telling people Harris's ability to play off the ball and shoot the 3 was a big deal and no one listened to me. LOL.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
DDR seems undersized and I think that is why he fades in the playoffs. God bless him he does the best he can but matchups are tough when going against taller players. I would still take him any day of the week over Kawhitter because Kawhitter is not dependable. DDR has the ideal Spurs work ethic and attitude it is just a shame we can’t put more support around him yet.

Yes, we would’ve been so much better. Covington >> Green And Saric is a future All-Star. PATFO should retire.

Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
Regrate trading him at all
-
Re: Would you have done Kawhi for Kemba
Well that depends. Is Kemba a 6'7" to 6'9" SF who shoots a lot of 3s and can switch on a pick?
-
Re: Regret not trading Kawhi for Covington+Saric?
Did they offer us a pick too? I don't remember
-
Re: Would you have done Kawhi for Kemba
Problem with Kemba is that his contract is expiring and he wants a max deal. DeRozan is locked up for 3 years

no, he would just be undersized playing like sf (actually he's one of the biggest sg in the league), fatigue, adjustments and his bad decisions are his problem in the playoffs

SPURS should have insisted on Anonby no way should you trade a franchise pillar without getting the other team's top prospect back, especially when Spurs threw in Green.
