I honestly think Ellington gets Contracts because teams think he'll turn into the next Danny Green, is from UNC etc. If it hasn't happened by now, it's just not going to.
Ellington is a better shooter than Danny, and he can get his midrange shot off the dribble with ease. The problem is he had never been on an nba team where he actually gets open looks consistently. It happened briefly for him in Memphis. He just needs to find the right situation... though I doubt the Nets are that spot.Quote:

The young guys signing for a 1 year minimum contract are looking for minutes & playing time to showcase their skills/pad their stats so they could get paid next season. Just look at Ed Davis getting paid by the Blazers after signing to playing for the minimum last summer for no other than the Lakers. Gerald Green should be the primary scoring option off the Heat bench & Ellington might start if Joe Johnson gets traded. Marcus Thornton is probably going to end up on the Knicks as Hardaway Jr's replacement.
I like green. Would of loved him on the Spurs. One of the best Dunkers on nba2k
Shved is much better than Bazemore and Gerald Green IMO. He fits the team and is a much more capable SG and ball mover than Green would be. Green cannot play a lick of defense. I want KJ McDaniels somehow! Trade future 2nd's for his RFA rights and resign him cheap.
I love the indignity in this thread about Green signing for the minimum when the Spurs got David West for the minimum!
