Couldn't find an appropriate place to post this, which is why I created a new one.
This is probably Duncan's last year, and almost certainly Manu's last year. I'd really like to see the opening night starting lineup as follows:
Parker
Manu
Kawhi
Lamarcus
Duncan
I know this wouldn't be the starting lineup all season, or ever again, and I don't care how long they play before subbing out, but it would be a really cool thing to do to start off this year.

No doubt Manu will get an ovation coming in for the first time, but a public gesture by Pop would be kind of cool. I'm sure Danny would be happy to give up the spot. I'm sure Manu wouldn't ask to start. That's the point of the gesture, since many Argentine fans still see making him come off the bench as an insult. Starting is really a trivial thing with the Spurs anyways... Pop has had rotations with the first sub as early as 5 mins into a game...
It's not REALLY about STARTING, but being introduced at the beginning of the game. On opening night, maybe they can just introduce all the Spurs instead of just the starting lineup.
Why would there need to be an injury? I'm unsure if you actually read the post. I'm suggesting Pop start Manu as a ceremonial thing. Kind of nice about being the head coach, he can do whatever he wants. Asking Manu to start for the first preseason game would be an insult, which is the opposite of the intent.Quote:

That's what my depth chart would look like. Obviously we don't know if Kyle Anderson or even maybe Ray McCallum are going to get rotation minutes during the regular season. Patty obviously plays the two guard on offense and I'm assuming Diaw is going to be the center out of him and David West, not that it really matters. I'm also assuming Boban doesn't get any kind of real minutes, but maybe Pop plans on using him in certain situations.
This is also under the assumption that Bonner won't be a Spur next year. I think he will be, but until he signs I won't make it official.
