Starting is really a trivial thing with the Spurs anyways... Pop has had rotations with the first sub as early as 5 mins into a game...
It's not REALLY about STARTING, but being introduced at the beginning of the game. On opening night, maybe they can just introduce all the Spurs instead of just the starting lineup.
Why would there need to be an injury? I'm unsure if you actually read the post. I'm suggesting Pop start Manu as a ceremonial thing. Kind of nice about being the head coach, he can do whatever he wants. Asking Manu to start for the first preseason game would be an insult, which is the opposite of the intent.Quote:
