Simmons > Williams

Why on earth would we sign someone like Williams over J Simms last year? I understand Reggie was a great shooting option, but why not someone that can cut and penetrate, attack and pass? I know it was just one game but cmon. That throw down was him tired of being in the D League

summer league doesn't count, d league is almost as worthless. the spurs are almighty. you need to provide documentation. Williams was better than you realize, evidenced by the Spurs faith in him. Or if the Spurs were just using a place holder, they've won championships. They have the best place holder choosing skills.

As I said "I know its just one game." D league stands for something and he had pretty good performances. We also had faith in signing RJ for all that money. Just because we had faith in Reggie doesn't mean he was the right pick lol. what is your "documentation" on that? The fact that you keep referring to him as a "place holder" brings me to the point that that is his peak.

i really shouldn't elaborate more than that, but... place holder, potential, role, none of it matters. Just believe the Spurs do the smartest thing that anybody could do. Don't worry or question. Really, there's no need to be excited or optimistic. Just have real bump on the log, lame, faith.

We were deep on the bench last year. Didn't need him. If you bring him on and he blows up, you don't get to keep him this year when you know money is tight and you need depth on the bench.

Could be as simply as they planned to use Williams' contract as trade bait and wanted to keep Simmons.
