At first glance, I thought this was a typical homer take but it looks like you're absolutely correct about Green being a better defender than Butler. As far as Butler not being as efficient on offense that's definitely open to debate. I guess one could argue that Butler would be able to adjust his game with the Spurs and Green wouldn't be nearly as effective with the Bulls but it's all subjective. I'm sure Butler wouldn't be asked to carry the same offensive burden with the Spurs and perhaps, Butler would be a better defender with the Spurs but alas, we'll never know. I'm just glad that Green is back with the Spurs as much of their success can be attributed to familiarity and cohesiveness within the team.
Hope he didn't. Remember what happen to Samson when he cut his hair.
Even got his hair braided during a game :lol

Agreed. When he cut his cornrows it was the end of an Era
I love Danny, but taking him over Butler? Are you high? :lol
Yes, Butler had a down year defensively last year. But that's because it was his first year carrying a much larger offensive load (put up 20 ppg on 58 TS%). If you don't ask so much of him offensively, he's proven he's an All-Defense caliber guy.
I mean if you want to say that Green is a better fit for SA, I guess that's fine. But Butler is clearly a better player than Green, and if I'm building a team, I'll take Butler for the max over Green for $10 million without hesitation. Butler is also 3 years younger than Green.
Yeah, this graph is in no way suggesting that Mayo is the 2nd best overall defensively, just the 2nd best this season keeping opponents below their field goal percentage. You're referring to Mayo's struggles in Dallas but even he admitted he wasn't coming out with the right mindset as a 6th man. Kidd told him to focus on defense this season and he fell in line. Obviously there may have been some front running with Mayo since the Bucks had one of the better defenses in the league. Popovich did say that he at least "works on defense" and was complimentary of Mayo, as was Kidd. Seems as if though Carlisle doesn't reach all his players, not that it's all on the coach but sometimes a change of scenery brings clarity and perspective.
