Didn't read, but I agree with the sentiment that if Jimmer is going to be successful it'll be due to his role and development with the Spurs. I'm more optimistic than some that he'll actually make the roster and earn minutes.
The Spurs' front office has a track record of being dumb.
Why else would they pick up someone like Jimmer Fredette?

Lol, Kerr made a career out of riding the coattails of Hall of Famers. He was one of the luckiest dudes to ever play the game and he'd tell you that himself. 3 titles with Jordan and 2 with Duncan. Well the Spurs rode Kerr's coatails in 2003 when he hit clutch shot after clutch shot to spark a comeback win versus Dallas and then did it again versus Nets.
