Glad to see the Spurs finally got some American patriots on their team, tbh.
PROBasketball talk did their 12 man roster prediction, and they have Kawhi making the team next summer. They say that coach K always wants that defensive bulldog. It was Iguodala last time, and they see Kawhi slipping into that role easily. He'll also shoot better than Iguodala, a big plus in FIBA ball.
Kawhi haters, it's hard to believe they actually exist...but they do here.
I understand players like Kobe Westbrook selfish-narcissistic-smug can have haters.
But guys like Kool Bob Love, TheGreatYatch, Lbbbywhatever, hating a team-first minded player, humble, quiet kid?
Hard to understand them...unless they're LeBron fans and hate Kawhi for the 2014 Finals.

Aldridge has a salty history with Team USA and has yet to wear the jersey. Love's three-point shot, rebounding ability and fruitful relationship with this program could vault him up list, but he needs to be healthy and less culpable on defense. He's still a very good player, and it's interesting to think about how/whether LeBron James will influence Love's inclusion.
Tier 4: 3-and D Hunger Games
SG Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, SF Jimmy Butler, SF Draymond Green, SF Paul George
Every team needs three-point shooting and impenetrable perimeter defense. All five of these players offer that, in varying degrees. Leonard feels like he should be a lock. Coach K can throw him on the other team's best player and virtually guarantee an emotional meltdown by the third quarter. Thompson's shooting is lethal for someone his size, and Green is the type of pugnacious competitor who's desired by every basketball team in the known universe.
Butler and George aren't brilliant spot-up shooters, but their two-way versatility makes them intriguing names to throw in the hat. (Considering what happened last summer, George's standing with Team USA is more fascinating than anyone's.) It's hard to see more than two making it from this group — ”which is a shame — but Team USA can't go wrong with whomever it chooses.
My way-too-early prediction on who makes it:
Guards: Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, James Harden
Wings: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson
Bigs: Dwight Howard, DeMarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin, Anthony Davis
I'd rather a power forward who can shot like Aldridge/Love over Dwight Howard. Having him is redundant with Cousins and Davis on the team.
Kawhi looks like a mini LeBron, wonder what his current weight is. That said, LaMarcus standing next to him looks huge.
Here is a video of Tom Thibodeau coaching Kawhi and the other players at USA Basketball camp.

If everybody from the current poll is healthy I doubt that any of our heroes will make the team. I kind of hope that they dont.
Is it just me.... or does it look like Kawhi has put on 8-10 lbs of muscle? Dude puttin in work this off-season :ihit
Kawhi is definitely honing a Lebronesque built + MJ's swagger (see the chewing gum :lol)..cannot wait to see the next part of his evolution..I think he is primed to make a good step ahead not only from bball standpoint but also when it comes to leadership..just stay healthy son..
Kawhi developing that Leroid bulk.
Kawhi and Lebron playing together will be just ridiculous
Kawhi puttin' in work!
Also good to see him and LMA developing chemistry...both on and off the court it seems. Bodes well for next season, and the Spurs future.
