The end of the beautiful game, TBH. Kawhi was fantastic, but this Melo-light offense and with the very bad using of LMA really makes our offense look like the Brown-led Lakers with Kobe posting up over and over again.

This team need a trade or two, the bench is filled with old, helf done, one side players...

Strangely enough Dallas is the only team in the Southwest Division with a win. Who'd have thought that.

Need every W, but they did very well for a team learning to play together.

Pop hates going into overtime... this is early in the season... no need to worry about losing this game. I kind of expected that Spurs would attempt a 3.

That was a new Kawhi we saw tonight. Takes guts to play like that. If you win, you're great. If you lose, people call you a bum. That was probably the most complete game Leonard has ever played. Superb!
Parker looked really good. Guarding Westbrook is an extremely unenviable job.
Manu was outstanding! Excellent start to the season for him.
Green made some tough shots. The last one was a rough one. If he makes it we worship him. Adams closed out and made a great effort.
LaMarcus probably got some jitters out. Change is difficult. He played a very mature game. Seemingly recognized Leonard had it going on. What a weapon Aldridge is.
Timmy showed up in shape and ready to play.
Mills gave a great effort.
Anderson had some wow moments.
West is going to be an awesome addition.
Boris played a great game.
The adage is "make someone else beat you". Kawhi did a fantastic job on KD and poured in his new career high in scoring by the way (as it were).
Waiters beat us. Kanter beat us. It was a rebound here and there shy of a victory.
OKC had more fire in their guts, but not by much. Spurs played pretty composed basketball...especially the first three quarters. Leonard looked gassed. He did it all.
First game of the year...significantly different roster...road game against a damn good team.
I'm proud of the guys. Time to regroup. Take it one game at a time. This is going to be a great squad. Thank you Spurs!

Good summary.
The team has so much options in offense that I wonder if Leonard is just doing too much.
KA can pretty much score against any small guard. He however needs to improve his catch and shoot and he needs to figure out what to do when isolated against a quick guard.
Diaw is really under-rated in this team. Guy was shooting 3's, posting up, blocking shots.
Manu is playing great, but too many forced attempts.
West and Aldridge need to know that if they are caught in an awkward uncomfortable spot that they should just pass it out instead of forcing an awkward shot.
Spurs need a better PG defender than Parker. Maybe Manu or maybe someone else can step up to the plate.
Anyway... good game to start the season. Looks like OKC and Spurs are ready. OKC may have made the right move of paying Kanter. It gives them a good scoring option on the 2nd team.
Durant and Westbrook played a lot of minutes. Pop didn't even care to put Green on Westbrook. This would make sense, but he may be treating this like a practice game.

At least Manu can handle Westbrook in the post & Patty can ball pressure him.
Patty will let Westbrook into the lane every time because he ball pressures until he gets his socks faked off. Manu... that's torture. You act like having those two on the floor at one time makes ONE HYBRID defender. That's so misguided, just like your point total non solution. The idea is too have Parker merely stay in front of people with a lot of help. This is very difficult. So yeah I see the Parker problem, but I don't see a nice solution from you. Like its so obvious what needs to be done. If this is the playoffs, I think you see Green on him more often, But not the whole game. Don't matter, this is a very tough matchup, especially if Westbrook passes once in a while as this really screws the help.

I do not worry, but I hate losing ... especially to that antic heavy OKC team ...

did no one else see durant push kawhi down?
in the first half, i'm thinking the first quarter. kawhi drove to the basket, missed a lay up, and on his way down it looked like durant pushed him. kawhi ended up on the floor and then when he was back up he looked mad.
i could be wrong. that's what i thought i saw.

Can't be done, because you'd have to deactivate Bonner. We all know that's not gonna happen.

Doesn't matter, because small ball doesn't consider rebounds that much. It's high octane scoring and fast pace offense. David West can shoot the ball without needing to be in the paint. Boban hasn't done anything to show me he can do anything.

You do realize that Waiters hit a turnaround fadeaway midrange to take the lead over parker, and to put them up 5 westbrook hit a three... danny green loafing.

Dummy, my point is Tony doesn't absolutely nothing to both Westbrook. Patty is small but he can actually cause turnover, pick up charges & make him work even if he gets destroyed JUST LIKE Parker once he's past half-court. Manu can switch onto Waiters without being at a size disadvantage. Not to mention Tony doesn't do much on offense to make Westbrook work, actually Russy was playing the passing lanes when Tony didn't have the ball in his hands (which happened a lot in the 4th b/c of LMA/Kawhi) b/c he isn't a treat w/o the ball. On the other hand, Patty/Manu can spread the floor & make him pay for gambling. Anybody who watched Gm 6 of the 2014 WCF WITHOUT Tony can see that Porker is a NET negative against OKC.

Dummy, the Spurs were the ones playing small ball & getting crushed by Kanters/Adams (both of whom are 7ft/250+)

Yes, he wasn't bother by Tony b/c he's a midget. Manu is BIGGER than Waiters.

That would have been the obvious assignment. My guess is PATFO doesn't want Westbrook or Durant to be comfortable playing against their likely defender. Leonard on Westbrook and Green on Durant come playoff time.

So you start Patty / Manu and then have Parker play with the 2nd unit?
What the hell are you proposing?

Start Tony, if he's having a bad game then bench him b/c there are other options. Tony's game isn't conducive to being a spark off the bench since he basically a game mangers nowadays.

Game mangers? Tell me more
