This one stings because they really threw this game away, quite literally along with the ball.

Don't try explaining to him. He thought Dudley was better than Carmelo.

It's gonna be a long year on ST if all we are going to see here is folks choosing up sides on which ONE player lost the game. I saw more than one player make a defensive error or miss a critical shot in the 4th. While we can have differences of opinion about the level of play on players in game grades, I hate to see us getting into the vicious cycle of scapegoating one player in every loss.

Yeah, I think we have the same take. Give Manu, Rasual and Kyle (and maybe Danny) a "pass" and rip everybody else.
At least Danny may have found the road back to confidently stroking his 3.

Kawhi is ready for his role, but Lamarcus is lost among all the shuffle. Many other guys played terrible. Even as bad as they were they had a shot to win this if they had cleaned up their mistakes. No need to rush this.
Lamarcus and Kawhi both were getting doubled pretty badly, and there were no cutters or others looking for a pass. Their execution was horrible, just horrible.
Nice intelligent post when most the others are busy finger pointing and cliff jumping. Thanks.

You didn't, but I was responding to you saying that Kawhi hits most of his shots in warmups. I was just saying that most people know that NBA players (guards/small forwards especially) can hit most of their shots in warm ups. It doesn't mean they are good/great shooters.
btw, I've seen some good filipino shooters, but unfortunately some of those guys got screwed with lack of height and athleticism.

No, I was just saying that it naturally becomes harder when you're shooting it with the game on the line. Everybody chokes, Kawhi and LMA did but to call him mentally weak, a choker? OKC and Boston games, he was clutch in the 4th.
We have good shooters in our NT but we're still using the traditional way of bball which is driving and forcing to the lane, stupidly so since we dont have the size.

Hopefully an attention to detail loss. Having an edge, knowing that nothing will be handed to you, might require some obvious mistakes. Frankly, sometimes we do get away with playing poorly.

At first, it was TP vs. Kawhi haters. Now it's "everyone's a bum except TD and Manu". It's ridiculous, really. Reading these posts, you'd think the NBA is a 16 game season like the NFL.

Re: Game Thread #5: Spurs @ Wizards -- Wed. (11/4) - 6:00 PM CST (2:00 AM Riga Time)
Too bad Danny didn't leap out on Beal while he was escape dribbling, there wasn't enough time to make another pass to Wall. It would have at least caused a pattern interruption in Beal's movement.

I'm not using this game as the only example. I've seen Kawhi brick too many jumpers in other games deep in the 4th quarter. I'm not talking about game winners, just jumpers in general. I think it's mental with him and he tightens up when the pressure is higher. That's my opinion on it. I'd rather he try and get to the rim rather than take jump shots. I just don't see supreme confidence when he shoots it in the late stages of games. If you don't have confidence in your shot before you shoot it, then it has no chance of going in.
You are right about shots being tougher with the game on the line, but I don't care about someone missing the shot if they shoot it with confidence. I can live with that no problem. Stephen Jackson is a prime example of what I am talking about. When he was in his prime, he shot the ball with no fear. If he missed it, I was OK with it because I knew it wasn't missed because he was scared to shoot it. That's the kind of shooter I am and that's the kind of shooter I like to see. I just don't see that with Kawhi's shooting late in 4th quarters.
As for Filipino ball, you're kinda forced to play a certain way because of your lack of size. Being a good shooter is something a lot of the best Filipino players have in their arsenal out of necessity. It sucks that some of these NBA players are in the league mostly because of their great genes.
