Christmas Day NBA

Christmas day is Western Conference heavy, but we get to enjoy a full day of NBA basketball on national TV with the good guys in the fourth spot. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the various match-ups.

Game 1 Pels vs. The Cheatles- Don't care much who wins, but I will root for the Pels because I have family ties to The Big Easy....and the music is funky!

Game 2 Chi-town vs. Methlahoma Thunderrefs- Hate Noah, but I hate the Thunderrefs even more. Go Bulls!

Game 3 Cavs vs. the Dubs- Naturally I hope the Cavs destroys them.

Game 4 Spurs vs. The Taliban- I believe God and country wants to see us whoop these guys. In this allegorical battle of good against evil, I'll be on the side of all that is right in the universe. May the force be with us!!

Game 5 Clips vs. Fakers- Never thought I'd ever being rooting for the Fakers in my lifetime, but I'll try...here it goes. Go Laaa....Go laaakk.....sorry....can't do it.

So far, I'm pretty unimpressed with the play of both teams. Is this the best East team playing the best West team?

Odd they they play Curry even after injury.

Why don't the Cavs put Bron on Green instead of having him rest on a single scrub?

The Cavs haven't been able to play with this lineup very much this season, what with their string of injuries. The Warriors aren't amazing defensively, and look to be dropping out of the stratosphere after their 24 game run.

Curry hasn't been in video game mode since gm 23; same with Iggy's 3 point shooting

Luckily they are regressing 'back to the mean' as Manu would say. If Cavs could make a few of their wide open shots they'd be killing them. Jeez....

Cavs shooting 30% isn't going to get it done. It says they are shooting 11% on 3's, but I haven't seen them make 1. Love, James, and Dellanova have missed every shot.

Pels needed this one for momentum. They have one foot into the off-season already.

Love is a joke, at least LMA puts up shots

Livingston is an interesting player... kind of like a skinnier Kyle Anderson.

Love was a stat padding bum, to compare LMA to him is an insult to Aldridge. When LeBron sits the offense goes through Kyrie and Deli instead of Love tells me all I need to know

Loves disappearin acts almost makes me feel sorry for LeBron, he has little help and has to carry his team

Cavs should have done Hack Ezeli when he was in. Right now they should hack Iguodola.

Kyrie and Lebron are playing with the equivalent of Chris Quinn, a Bonner/Blair hybrid in Love and Knicks' fans second favorite drafted wing of the early part of this decade to Landry Fields.

Yet somehow they're still not down double digits in this game.

Kyle is craftier (had to be to get this far), and smarter, taller, longer. If he could shoot, many teams would come calling, but it is tough to judge him this early bc he was being tamed by Pop kept in a super strict leash. Strictly spotting Kyle up for 3s was not a good use for him like at all.

Sean was talking about seeing him scoring 30+ with ease in college. He also said he expected him to eventually show what he's got as a scorer. You're right about Pop keeping him on a focused leash.

I missed that statement by Sean (I missed last game and caught it on replay-they don't show commentary like that in League Pass), but Sean is a big fan of Anderson, like I am.

I would be surprised if he turns out to be a scorer, what he really likes to do is pass, but Pop is molding him at this point and they had him looking to score in the dleague and SL, clearly they wanted to develop his post up game and his scoring. We just have to wait and see what Pop makes of him.

Yes Sean is a fan. I was surprised to hear him talk about Kyle as a big scorer, but he did indeed show some of that in SL.
