No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
I don't have any arguments about this. None of our qualified players get enough playing time to justify a spot. Maybe if Boban and Simmons have bigger roles next year, they'll qualify as sophomores.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Should have called Boban instead of Dwight Powell. Bad marketing.
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
when did they get rid of team shaq vs team barkley?
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Not sure if Neto deserves it.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge

IDK...Winslow, McDermott, Randle can't make the World Team roster. Bobi? As fan...I'd like to see him being selected.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Mirotic is out with an injury, so there's hope yet for Boban.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
NBA sleeping on Boban....
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Wish they'd just have continued with rookie vs sophomores rather than USA vs. the world thing.

Agreed. I guess it's NBA marketing outside the USA though. American fans don't give a sh**.
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
The coaches were the ones who voted and they don't have time apparently to watch the rookies from other teams play. Powell has played a lot more this season compared to Boban. But yeah Boban is popular not just among SA fans, other teams are hearing about him.

Any other year, Canadian Powell doesn't make it. Just happened that Boban decided to be a rookie the year that the ASG is in Toronto.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Rather not play and get injured... didn't that happen to Manu in the 2003 rookie game tbh?
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Hezonja made the team based on his reputation/hype b/c he has been playing garbage minutes on a mediocre team.:lol
-
Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
Tray Lyles to step in for Nikola Mirotic.
That is a travesty for Boban!!!
Quote:
Lyles, 20, is in the midst of a promising first season with Utah. The former Kentucky star is averaging 4.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game, emerging as a heady two-way player with knack for spreading the floor.
How much is Boban averaging in less time??

They were announced sometime between Jan 30th and Feb 5th last year, so should be any day now. Hopefully TNT will have the scoop for their Thursday broadcast tomorrow.
I would think Kawhi has to have gotten the call...the bigger question IMO is whether he will choose to compete. As improved as his shooting is this year, he doesn't strike me as the type who would be comfortable shooting off the rack...but that's all my speculation, so what really matters is how he feels about it.

I believe the contestants are picked based off the most 3 pointers attempted a game and not highest percentage which is stuipd.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
All Star weekend is a colossal waste of time. It's nice recognition for our guys but other than that, the game and festivities are bordeline unwatchable. The game is for sure.

Re: No Spur in Rising Stars Challenge
The 3 point shootout will include all the Warriors main guys (minus Bogut).
