LMA took more shots per minute than Kawhi, against the Warriors and Cavs.
So...Pop is playing LMA as the Spurs first option and still didn't work against elite teams.
Do you have another great idea??

I wouldn't go that far but yes people tend to overrate him and I think that's due to fear of whats going to happen to the franchise after Duncan retires. He's definitely an all-star but he's not a franchise superstar player people tend to make him out to be like he's on the same level as Lebron,Durant,Curry.

What a liar then again you are one of those Pro Kawhi apologists. You got all 3 of their ages wrong. Lebron is 31, Love is 27, Irving will turn 24 in a few months.

Are you drunk? Love scored 21 points, Irving 21, LeBron 29...If no one of LeBron's teammates scored 20 or more, he didn't win this game by himself. That's why I said that Kawhi's that good but needs some help like LeBron had tonight.

Tbf, Pippen underachieved in the 2nd 3-peat and DNP'd game(s) because he had a migraine lol
1996 playoffs: 16.9ppg, 8.5rpg, 5.9apg, 2.3TO, 39.0fg%, 28.6 3P%
1997 playoffs: 19.2ppg, 6.8rpg, 3.8apg, 2.9TO, 41.7fg%, 34.5 3P%

I jumped the gun and assumed you were talking age when I saw 20's appear in the quote. My mistake.
Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
Kawhi has not nor will he ever be a franchise player. Fans need to realize he's a complimentary piece to a championship team. His role is to play great defense and to spot up for threes. Anything else is asking too much.

Kukoc made up for his decline.

He's already one of the best postup players & mid-range shooters in the league.

This has to be one of the worst takes if you seriously think he can only shoot spot up threes and play defense.

Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
Kawhy lack of intangibles and leadership is the number 1 most ovrerlook thing on st by far...
Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
Kl is the new version of david. Great skulls on both ends. But soft. The sad part is I would rather have manu with the ball in the closing seconds than kl, and kl probably would too.
Spurs got 2 top tier talent with bottom tear mentality in lma and kl.

Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
The Spurs don't operate like this, they won't accommodate to Aldridge and Leonard's strengths. If You want to see Kawhi dominate then Pop should allow him to handle the ball more or run the offense through Aldridge every single time. Parker handling the ball has not done much for the Spurs against the elite teams, like GS and OKC. Parker cannot run the offense or facilitate and expecting Kawhi to score 30 points playing alongside Parker is ridiculous. Manu and Parker were horrible on defense then they took horrible shots trying to "take over" yet they get a pass?! BS.
Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
Matt Moore from CBS sports mentioned this after the GS game. Kawhi's usage rate has gone down, he is the leading scorer yet he doesn't get the ball enough to score. Everyone is expecting Kawhi to dominate when he is being relegated as a spot up shooter waiting for a corner three from Parker. It doesn't work that way, Kawhi and LMA need the ball, fuck ball movement if everyone else can't score or even handle the ball without turning it over.
Re: Why is Kawhi getting a pass?
Kawhi needs to works on quick feet drills. He gets tangled up easily in crowds.

I agree and disagree. I agree in that he didnt come out of the womb knowing how to put the basketball in the hoop say like JR Smith, just effortlessly. I disagree in that he helps in so many areas AND can shoot the three AND has made so many improvements like the post-up game and midrange shot AND is an extremely hard worker AND has a heart that I wouldnt bet against him. If hes a complimentary player he'll be so good at being a complimentary player that he could be the MVP of the team.
The problem is everybody finding there comfort zone, knowing who they are and devising a system that encompasses all of it and that takes time. Personally I think LMA needs the ball more, hes our isolation player. Like Paul Pierce was for the Celtics, when we need a score we give it to LMA and he backs down his opponent and scores. This in turn is going to bring Kawhis game alive because Kawhi is more of a floater. He does this and that. Hes going to shoot the three, fake the three and drive for a mid range or a dunk, get a steal with a runaway dunk, putback dunks and some of the best D in the league. Hes just not there with the iso plays...yet.

Yet that's exactly what the kawhi haters are advocating. They want kawhi to just be a spot up shooter and play defense while they claim this is aldridge or parkers team. Say parker is head of the snake, mvparker, we go as far as parker takes us or this is aldridges team he is the alpha and kawhi is just a " role player" but yet whenever spurs lose those same clowns are quick to try give kawhi the "role player" 100% of the blame for the lose while glossing over underwhelming performance from those 2.
I personally don't care who takes the most shots or who is considered the leader or alpha or any of that, as long as the spurs win games. But this garbage of kawhi the so called "role player" having to shoulder their loses is stupid tbh.
