Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
There's nothing wrong with being the second best team from now on. No sense in getting hurt later when you can just accept it now.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
As long as we beat them in the playoffs, I'm good. With or without HCA, looking like without, but if we can do it I don't care if they get 70, 72 or even 73. As long as we win in the playoffs.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
They are the favorites by a huge margin right now but don't believe in conceding right now.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
Curry gets across half court and he's in range. Wtf do you do with that??

Teams who just chuck up threes can't keep this percentage up tbh

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
We have close to no shot at beating them if they are healthy in the playoffs... Curry is simply unreal and we aren't athletic enough to give then trouble.
I have NEVER seen anything like Curry.

I'm not sure if you read the news but the Spurs are picking up Andre Miller.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
The Spurs have had their share of epic collapses in late game situations (I'm not talking about 6, but total brainfarts like the Detroit game last year). Something of that proportion would have NEVER happened with a Pop coached team.
The stupid alley oop attempt that gave the Ws two possessions at end of regulation
Not calling TO when Durant was trapped
Durant fouling Iggy
Durant fouling out (you let him go there)
Letting Kyle Singler keep getting switched into Steph
Westbrook fouling Klay on the backdoor cut
Generally terrible shot selection
Playing a lineup with Waiters, Singler and Roberson in it
Thinking Randy Foye is the savior when in fact he's not gonna play and he was purely salary / tax relief
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
OKC did choke. Durrant specifically. He calls a time out at the end of regulation and they win.

I know...he's shooting 1% better than Parker from 3. And only slightly worse from the field overall.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
Yeah, it's just demoralizing watching gsw. No one is beating them this year.

We absolutely must create match-ups that force Curry to spend energy playing defense. Even then I don't know how much of a chance we would have. Trying to match them in small ball is an obvious no-win.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
I think what is important here, is to understand how OK kept the game so close.
Anyone check rebound stats? Durant keeping close to Curry on 3 point shooting, until he fouled out? We have even better 3 point shooters, but we just don't shoot as many. Should we?
GS showed some weakness in this game, if you're paying attention to other things besides that freakin' incredible shot...lol
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
I watched this game along with the Spurs game. The Dubs ain't shit without Curry!!!! Westbrook stopped being aggressive an their offense turned into shit. KD getting doubled an the rest of the team watching. No ball movement. No one shooting besides KD an Westbrook. Singler shouldn't been on the court for no reason what so ever....

Ehhh, I guess you're more optimistic than I am. Way I look at it, GS still managed to win on the road in OKC even while getting out-rebounded by 30 boards. That's ridiculous.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
OKC should have closed out that game with a minute left in regulation. They still went into OT without a total collapse and almost took it still. They played with passion, but they certainly didn't play smart with the ball. Fatigue + Lineup out there finishing the game didn't do much for them putting pts on the board. You would think the law of averages would catch up to Golden State. You just have to tip your hat off to this continued performance.
That is a game worth rewatching to see what OKC was doing right. Hopefully BBallBreakdown does a piece on this game.

The Thunder just blew that game, did they have timeouts when Durant was trapped? if so Durant should have called timeout. Curry hit an absolutely incredible game winning shot, like a 32 footer. If he starts missing these crazy shots the Warriors will start losing some games.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
Regular season game, nothing to see here. Keep calm and carry on.
Spurs just need to take care of their business, get their shit back together on defense and let GSW suck up Sportcenter. Pop and crew will have a plan for their playoff matchups.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
OKC kinda blew it tbh. Very poor offensive execution down the stretch cost them the game.

Westbrook choked WAY more than Durant did. . .what game were you watching? Durant made only a couple of mistakes. Westbrook made about a dozen in the same timespan. Meanwhile Durant was nailing clutch shots while Westbrook bricked practically every jumper he took. . .and they were all bad shot selections.

dude did you watch the last 14 seconds of regulation. Not all chokes are equal. Blindly lobbing the ball while being pressed with a two point lead and a time out uncalled, and then fouling a jump shooter...just dumb.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
The inbound pass was the right idea it was quick and the warriors couldn't keep it from touching Durant's hands who is a excellent free throw shooter. Durant should have pushed it down into the middle of the court but instead he got trapped in the corner, although I don't see him squeezing through the traffic where he got it. Time out should have been called right then and there or he should have just put that ball into his chest like a football player till they called a jumpball or someone on Thunder's bench realized they had a timeout and used it.
That was definitely a playoff atmosphere tonight. Clutch shots from Durant, Curry came out and kept hitting ballsy shots.
And what was the deal about Warriors imploding in the locker room at halftime? I missed that part of the game.

Draymond just had a meltdown due to his recent offensive struggles and went crazy into the locker room because he felt his teammates didn't want him to shoot the ball.

yeah man, if he goes a whole game without playing defense, he's gonna kill us on offense. I say play simmons or anderson over green cuz they will at least take it to the basket. Green just wants to plant his feet and shoot open 3s

Ah. Yeah he wasn't much of a factor with the buckets tonight. It was mostly Curry dropping those 3 pointers and Thompson make shots. I don't recall much from anyone else the entire night except a couple of bail out shots and open looks for the rest of the warriors team.

We turned the ball over alarmingly against them too. Tony, Manu and Patty had their worst games of the season (Manu was bad against CLE too and Tony has had a stinker game here or there too, but not on those epic proportions.) Everyone turned it over and was rattled. At different points we were within 10 or so points but the more you play with desperation trying to make a comeback GSW feasts on that. You can't play that way against them.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
What I saw...is how you can beat the warriors. Out-rebound them, shoot 3's, keep close on turnovers. That's how OK played them and was winning...except for last dumb turnover.
If Durant doesn't turnover the ball in regular time, and/or stays in game in O/T...OK wins game. There's a lesson here. Spurs shoot 3's as good as any in the league. Can they rebound as well as OK? Prolly not...but they can turn over the ball a lot less. We need to shoot more 3's cuz we hit them.

The Warriors were playing their 7th game of a 7-game road trip, and Curry left this game with an injury, briefly:lol..they still beat the "3rd best team in the NBA"..
Hopefully Ezeli is out for a potential playoff matchup, that's a little encouraging for the Spurs..Varajeo is an atrocious player..

Did they look tired? Not to me...they were playing playoff basketball. And it doesn't take away from how you can beat GS. Out-rebound them, minimize turnovers...and shoot 3's. We can shoot 3's with the best of them.

Outside of Bogut and Iggy they are very young so like you said I doubt they would be tired.

I don't know what you are seeing from us but Pop got on Tony for passing 3s and he took and made 2 tonight. Anderson aggressive and took 3 3 pt shots. I think that is the most he's taken all season. He passed up on a 3 and at the time was playing well and with the foul trouble POP needed his minutes, but after passing up that 3 (would have been his 4th of the game) he was summarily benched.even LMA too a 3. It's been subtle bc we still run the post up and LMA and everyone else who loves the midrange and can make those shots still take them, but I think the emphasis now is that if you have an open 3 you have to take it.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
LOL so many people act like this team is unbeatable...its simply not true.
Average teams have beaten them or come within a possession many times this season, Warriors just have so much luck.
They're a good team, but nothing to chop ya nuts off over.
Cheers

San Antonio is right there on 3 point field goal Percentage...but, they take almost Half as many as GS. That's what I see.
GS takes around 30 3-pointers a game. San Antonio takes around 18.

The Spurs don't have the athletes to play the Warriors like the Thunder just did. They have one tremendous athlete (Kawhi) and another pretty good one (Green). That's pretty much it in terms of their likely playoff rotation.

The Spurs shoot 3's almost as well as GS and defend better. It's not about athleticism. It's about skill. And we have as much skill as they do, maybe more. Simmons doesn't sit because he's not athletic, he sits because he's not as skilled.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
OKC is still the same team. They have two elite players, but they just have below-average basketball IQ collectively. I mean, they should've finished off GSW with one minute to go, but they ended up making boneheaded play after another. I like how OKC though switch on screens that involved Curry. They were basically conceding the open late and allowing Curry to beat them off the dribble. Good game plan and I'm pretty sure POP has taken notes.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
Terrible terrible matchup when our weakest defender is our PG.
I also think Draymond is the most underrated player in the league. He runs just nearly as much offense as Curry. Constant triple double threat.
Green on Curry. Kawhi on Green. And hope someone can put a hand up against Klay
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
They are unbeatable! it's not just Curry and the talent on the team, they are also playing the game with perfect level of instincts and intuaitions, aggressiveness, mental powers...

I doubt we'll take 30 per game, but some guys who were nit shooting the 3 at all, or were passing up 3 pt shots like they were a virus are being encouraged... or rather at this point pressured to take them. But I doubt we'll take 30 as those same guys also like to post up or make plays off the dribble.. but I do see Pop putting the pressure on guys to shoot the 3. I wasn't seeing that earlier in the season.
I think the coaches have seen the light. We are nit winning with just Patty, Danny and Kawhi shooting the 3 and God bless Manu he's still far from being back.

Yeah, you're prolly right. Tho, Parker's 3 is looking pretty good this season. And Kyle, Simmons and Rasual have the ability as well. I have come to hate the 3 point line, it has the potential to ruin the game...but it is what it is. People have started talking about moving it back, but that wont work, you'd have to widen the court as well. Only option I see is getting rid of it altogether...but, doubt that'll happen. I just f'king hate the 3...lol

Did you only watch the final play of regulation or something? Durant is the whole reason the Thunder were even up. Westbrook was blowing every single play with bad passing and poor shot selection which led to repeated empty possessions all the way down the stretch. Durant was banging clutch shot after clutch shot and getting clutch rebounds. . .
And you blame Durant over two plays? One of which he was at least trying. :lol You have a weird definition of what choking is, and an even weirder standard for ignoring clutch play while excusing poor play. If Durant was playing as bad as Westbrook was late in the 4th they would've simply lost the game by 8-12 and it wouldn't have even gone to OT.

Not illegal, but you cannot possibly shooting that kind of percentages without some external technological advance.

Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
I'm sure this will upset the closet Warriors fans, who are in damn near every thread I see about them, slobbering over them and singing their praises to no end, but these assholes are now a whopping six games better than their expected W-L (the Spurs are actually one game worse).
I don't think anyone is disputing that they're the favorites, at this point, but this illustrates that they've also had an incredible amount of late game luck.
Last night was a perfect example. Donovan sabotages his own team by playing two offensive liabilities down the stretch against their small lineup. There were myriad fluke bounces on the play that led to the terrible Durant call at the end of regulation. Finally, Roberson, who's one job on the Curry game winner, was not only let him dribble in a straight line, into a rhythm shot, does exactly that.
If this were a one off, fine; it happens. But the shit that's out of their control always seems to break their way. History suggests that's not sustainable.
-
Re: Just finished watching the Warriors-Thunder game and...
I don't think the Warriors could beat a balanced team with a dominant low post player, ala Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, etc.
Problem is, there's nobody like that in today's league, and therefore GSW is in beast mode.

The Worriers will take care of them in 5 games while WestBrick shoots OKC out of the series. OKC had Durant going nuclear while the Worriers played a below average game & they still lost both games away/home.
Kanter will get exposed in a postseason series ala Z-Bo & Ezeli (missed both meetings) being available will help out the Worriers on the boards/paint when Bogut gets benched.
The Clippers have been more competitive despite not having ReDick available for one of the earlier matchups & Blake missing their most recent matchup where Jeff Green was also making his Clipper debut. OKC lost their lead when Curry left the game while the Clippers went up 20+ on the Worriers when Curry got in foul trouble so that should tell you a lot.
Only idiots who consume BSPN would want to play a Clippers team that recently waxed the Spurs WITHOUT Blake over an OKC team that has gotten worse since 2014 when the Spurs beat them w/ Bonner starting for Tiago.:lol
Kyle Singler might be the worst player getting minutes on an elite team & he was playing in OT against the best team in the league while checking Curry on switches.:lol

This.. It's Curry, how is he allowed to dribble into a shot he has made lots of times?
Forget about the TO. Let them take it, then rest.
I don't even think it's a good idea to give that shot to anyone, specially star guards who probably practice it and have the physical tools to make them any given night.

OKC did it all to win, but the Warriors can't lose right now. Teams that start shooting well are lethal, but that's the first team to shoot the lights out over a series, all playoffs and now all season long. Curry came from another planet, tbh.

The poster you quoted is an idiot, bro:lol
