Our last regular season home loss was a year ago today.

Batmanu game thread, BillMc with stellar Melissa pic the acquisition of LMAlpha, the ascendance of the KingSlayer and the perpetual greatness of the Big Three no wonder the Spurs are having their best year...ever!:toast :flag:

I think we will see TD get some more minutes with the second unit to matchup with Kanter on the boards after his performance in the first game.

Team has equaled last year's win total. With 17 less losses!

Just need to 1 and 16 to top last year's record,
5 and 12 for 60

Though it doesn't feel this way, if the Spurs slay the Dubs and get the title this year, it might be looked on as the best Spurs team ever. Which is funny/scary because there have been other years when I felt more confident in the greatness of the Spurs. But on a strictly stats/record perspective one could say this is the best one. It could be in a relation to the rest of the league thing. This year since it is all about the Dubs, the Spurs dominance doesn't feel as dominant. I don't know about most of you, last year's title run I had no doubt that we were the best team in the league because I just felt robbed by the Heat the year before. In other Spurs title years that I recall, they were very good but I didn't "know" we were the best the whole season like that season.

A title and this will easily go down as the greatest Spurs team. Anything else and several other Spurs teams, probably all 5 title teams, would be naturally ahead of this one. How many Mavs fans celebrate the 2007 team? Or Patriots the undefeated team that lost the Superbowl?
You're 100% right that the Dubs success is astounding. Will we be Seattle in 96'? A 65-66 win team who was just unlucky enough to exist at the same times as the Bulls? A Sham to this year's Secretariat?
OR will we show them to be a jump shooting paper tiger? Looking forward to the playoffs my friend. :flag: If we're a 66-67 win team that takes out a 70 win defending champ, then OUR extended dynasty will have ended the title runs of the Shaq-Kobe Lakers, the Wallace Pistons, the Heatles, AND the Curry Warriors. A dynasty that in its unending length eclipses its contemporaries.

Your response fired me up but it reminds me of there was some tv show about great conquerors and empires and as cool as each of these empires were, whether Persians, or Hannibal, or Alexander the Great no matter how great they were or how dominant their reign a majority of the stories had the same ending, they fell to the great Roman empire. Kind of reminds me of the Spurs in the fact no matter how sexy the "dynasty" no matter how brightly they burn for a minute, they all fall down before the continued greatness of the eternal Spurs Dynasty. Would make for a really cool "Game of Zones". Which should be coming out pretty soon and I can't wait to see how the Spurs are portrayed in relation to the Dubs.

If we win it all it will indeed be a big upset and the biggest story in basketball. My take about that 2014 championship is I never felt confident until the last buzzer rang! Fortunes didn't really turn our way until Game 3 of the Finals and still it felt unwise to be too sure.
This team looks formidable to me and capable of going all the way. It's always hard to say which team was best. For instance the most boring Finals in history was because we were so much better than everyone else. Not many talk about 2007 as being a great team because they won so easily. The Suns were their only challenge.
We win this year and it will be huge, but 2014 has a storyline that looks like a Speilberg movie! :bobo

If that guy Adams starts throwing his weight around tonight I wish Pop would put Boban in against him. Likely not, but West/Diaw can't handle Adams I fear...and we may need Boban's size and strength against him.

I keep thinking it will be made into a Speilberg movie...nothing can ever top that win....but this team is currently a stronger team than the 2014 team, imo. Problem is, GSW is better than anybody has been since the old Bulls teams of MJ.
