She was not on her property when the crime was instigated. She called the cops while not on her property after being notified that her security system was set off, then proceeded to travel from not on her property to her property and kill the fleeing teenager. She was never in danger until she decided to go to the crime scene.
Teenagers do a lot of stupid shit, doesn't mean they should be killed for it.
