KD is great friends with Steph and the Dubs core is all young and he would get to play in one of the best regions in the country

Spurs only have 1 young piece on their team and they play in San Antonio

Also I think KD would rather go with a team that's experienced and proven over a team that's young (and would have to get rid of some guys to make room for him)

When the Dubs are watching the Spurs in the Finals I am sure we won't be hearing from Benoit anymore.
