If he takes a paycut, why not. Dwight can still be a monster when hes motivated. Hes got great defensive fundamentals.
Problem really is attitude and with all the baby mamas, he needs more money.

I wouldn't take him if he was free. This is literally one player that would cause me to stop rooting for this team entirely. Coward, soft, pussy, no heart, liability at the line, no leadership, no real skill developed in 10+ years and is declining. Why would we want him again?

PATFO generally likes intelligent players so that rules out Howard immediately.
For fucks sake, for someone who covers the Spurs exclusively, Jabari Young just does not understand the organization.

That is absolute horseshit and you know it. The Spurs have always been selective with who they try and bring in. While I don't doubt they have entertained scenarios, for the sake of due diligence, they do not bring in known Low BBIQ headcases.
Howard is an injury prone, low BBIQ headcase who couldn't comprehend Pop's defense much less spell BBIQ.

First off, an apology is needed to Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
Defensive Player of the Year award was one of the selections, and Green was completely ignored. He deserves consideration, and may just win the award though he wasn’t picked on my ballot.
When thinking of the candidates, Green’s name just slipped my mind, as Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, Memphis center Marc Gasol, and San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard were the selections made. Once it was discovered Green was forgotten, a change was sought but after selections are submitted, all votes are final.
Golden State wasn’t completely ignored, though, as Stephen Curry got my vote for Most Valuable Player.

I hope Jabari Young wasn't considering Dwight Howard as the second coming of David Robinson.
Howard may profess to be a Christian, but he doesn't read the holy book the same way as Robinson. While the Admiral studies the scriptures in entirety, Bible Kemp only focuses on "go forth and multiply."

Re: Jabari Young: OUT with the Duncan IN with the Dwight
He's still a good defensive player, but nowhere near what he used to be(not even referring to his peak, where he was arguably a top 5 defender of all-time, but he's nowhere near what he was just a few years ago)..
For a terrible offensive player like Howard to be worth the price that he's going to cost, he needs to be a great/elite defender that buys into his role as a super role player(like Ibaka/Jordan)..he's no longer great, defensively(just good), and he refuses to accept that he's a poor offensive player..
The NBA is where names cost more than production..there are still GMs that will pay shitty players like Rajon Rondo, for example..fortunately, the Spurs are always ahead of the curve..

He would be best suited playing w/ someone like Chris Paul who will throw him lobs unlike James Harden who tends to find shooters after a PnR despite Dwight setting screens & rolling to the rim.:lol
If the Cripples had Dwight instead of DeAndre they would be a legit threat to the Worriers b/c Dwight can actually punish Barnes/Draymond in the post. (DeAndre was throwing up airball hook shots last time:lol)

Dwight still wants touches on offense in the post, though..he still doesn't realize he's a terrible offensive player that should live off lobs and finishes:lol
Ideally, he could excel in that type of role, but he still thinks he can be Hakeem..
At least somebody like DeAndre just plays his role with high energy and consistency, regardless of the touches he gets..

The thing is that they don't even throw him lobs so they are making the situation worse by ignoring him as if he's Dennis Rodman.:lol (He was decent in the postseason when Josh Smith was throwing him lobs unlike HarDone)
He also worked Chandler over 1-on-1:
He also killed DeAndre in January when they were finding him on rim-runs:

Re: Jabari Young: OUT with the Duncan IN with the Dwight
I wouldn't want Dwight for a number of reasons. As Harlem and others have said he'd be a great role player/defensive specialist as long as he'd buy in. But he still thinks he's "the next great big man" when that ship has sailed. KAT in Minnesota at mere 20 has far more offensive skills than Dwight ever will have.
My other concern would be the absence of Tim (and likely Manu) in the leadership department CANNOT be replaced by Howard. This is obvious. But when Howard begins his diva routine or complaining about shots or smiling and not caring after losses, how will this affect other players? What a contrast to Tim. LMA, for example, has ditched the diva stuff and come on board and fallen in line. I somehow can't see Howard doing the same as he's failed to do so everywhere he goes. Will LMA's inner diva re-rise if Howard is allowed to play around and bitch? Without Tim there it is more likely. Pop can only police so much. Fortunately Pop and RC know this.
Howard had things perfect for himself in Orlando. He torpedoed it. He was then unhappy because Kobe and the Beard took up too many shots (surprise, surprise). Well Kawhi and LMA would eat first in the Spurs. Unless he's grown up and learned to accept that he's an aging DeAndre Jordan, he'll never flourish anywhere. Even in SA.
And if somehow the money to pay for Howard would materialize (and it won't) I'd rather use it on Al Holford if Timmy retires. Or beg David West to come back. Or throw it at a stud young point guard.

Yeah, issue #1 it's clearly his discipline and fit into the Club. Also, I'm not sure that Pop wants to deal with the Hack-a-Player problem. Although the NBA is aimed at changing these foul rules this Summer.

Also, Howard isn't like DeMarcus Cousins(another cancer that has a cult following for some reason) where you can make the "dysfunctional franchise" excuse for him..
He has been with 3 different franchises and has had incidents/on-court dysfunction with all 3 of them:lol..drama follows him everywhere, not to mention that he's a pedophile with 50 kids..
