I hate when fans, media and players say "only win by". Winning and Losing is binary and the threshold is (1) point. I do like the point differential statistic as a long term measure when given a large data set but individual games have too many specific factors to use "only win by" as a moral victory.
He wasn't talking about a moral victory. He was saying he was glad it wasn't a worse beating.
