The injury actually came at a stretch where the Spurs are scheduled to play 3 games that they should win handily without Kawhi. The OKC game was a tossup even w/ Kawhi so it actually prevent OKC from gaining any psychological advantage at a place where they have owned the Spurs.

Like muscle strains, quad contusions are grade 1, 2 or 3 depending on the severity.

Grade 1: Just a few days to recover

Grade 2: At least 2 weeks

Grade 3: A month or more
