SA's having a great week in national news. Police brutality and mass shootings!
Keith said police did not have any information about any possible motive or a relationship between the two people who were killed. Another law enforcement official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the incident appears to have emanated from a dispute.
Phew, so relieved it wasn't serious.

Was it really? That's weird that they would want elementary school kids packing. I mean, since that's what Blake said and that's what I was commenting on. Did I read it incorrectly?
I am not saying that I am for more guns in school or for ANY guns in school. I just don't think it's funny that, even though nothing happened, there was potential threat towards elementary school children.

Sure, but it's not like they are equal. When the predictable types come out of the woodwork to celebrate the revealing that a shooter is black/Muslim/whatever and blaming entire ethnicities and religions on their actions, what you posted is what the response should be.
I see this image posted a lot. The "White America" article is about the double standard when it comes to asking black people to answer for black crime.
So while Salon does veer a little too heavily into SJW territory at times, these tweets aren't exactly contradictory.
That meme is basically like putting Bomani Jones' T-shirt next to an article on ESPN about why the Indians need to change their name, then calling them hypocrites.

Yes, Molly, straight outta UofXXX should need to be a trained firearm professional to take down the shooter in the 1/20,000,000 chance her classroom gets hit up. I'm sure that will reduce kids getting gunned down.
Principal: Here Molly, put this Glock in your classroom safe and make sure to have it loaded without one in the chamber and with the lock enabled and also make sure none of your kids see the code. Your college did train you in gun safety right?
Molly: Umm, yes! Now I'm gonna teach these kids to read. Where is the safe and what is the code?

They're referencing the high capacity gun (s). He got off 154 shots in 5 minutes and it could easily have been more.
But hey, instead of getting rid of the high capacity gun, let's add more guns just in case something that has an incredibly small chance of happening actually happens.

Because they kill a lot of people very quickly. In any number of different places.
But that's a different goalpost. Why add guns to classrooms? To protect against what exactly? A gunman with an incredibly low chance of ever showing up?
You're putting a loaded weapon in a confined room full of kids. That makes no sense for a lot of reasons.

"....The term high capacity ammunition magazines (sometimes called large capacity magazines or high capacity ammunition feeding devices) generally refers to gun magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition. But statutory definitions vary. A 1994 congressional ban on magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition expired in 2004 and was not renewed. Consequently, high capacity ammunition magazines are legal unless banned by state or local governments. Connecticut does not regulate the magazines.
Six states and the District of Columbia (D.C.) currently ban or restrict large capacity magazines. What does California's definition of magazine capacity have to do with anything? Are California's 10 round magazines called standard or limited? Why would California make a law to define something already considered standard?

Gun sales drive demand for high capacity magazines

LAS VEGAS
America's zeal for guns is driving sales of one of the industry's most controversial accessories: high capacity magazines.
High capacity magazines that carry 10 or more rounds, have been banned in eight states. But sales are strong where they're still legal, fueled by fears that they'll soon be subject to tighter regulations.
The popularity of the magazines prompted Jarret Mock to launch the startup TorkMag last year in Fort Myers, Florida. His startup makesmagazines that hold 35 or 50 rounds. The magazines, which sell for $22 or $40,*are for AR-15s.

It's called standard capacity because it's the standard capacity. Ill informed people like yourself and the MSM call them high capacity in an attempt to make them sound evil. Same way you refer to the modern sporting rifle AR15 as an assault rifle even though less than 1% of them are used in firearm homicides.
