Trump/Clinton tied in new Rasmussen poll...
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...ton_trump_race
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely U.S. Voters finds Trump and Clinton tied at 38% each. But 16% say they would vote for some other candidate if the presidential election comes down to those two, while six percent (6%) would stay home. Only two percent (2%) are undecided given those options.
rump is more toxic within his own party than Clinton is in hers. If Trump is the Republican nominee, 16% of GOP voters say they would choose a third-party candidate, while five percent (5%) would stay home. Sixty-six percent (66%) would vote for Trump, but 10% would vote for Clinton instead.
If Clinton is the Democratic nominee, 11% of Democrats would vote third-party, while three percent (3%) would stay home. Seventy-five percent (75%) would support the nominee, but 11% say they would vote for Trump.
Among voters not affiliated with either major party, nearly one-third say they would opt out: 21% would choose a candidate other than Trump or Clinton, and 10% would stay home. Trump leads Clinton 38% to 27% among unaffiliated voters.

Bernie suppoters are mad.
It will level out.

Re: Trump/Clinton tied in new Rasmussen poll...
This will be the shittiest election ever in terms of the choices available. Two horrible candidates - and an even worse one in Cruz waiting in the wings if Trump slips up. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a low turnout.
Having said that, I don't believe there are enough stupid people to elect Trump. If I'm wrong, this will go down in history as the moment the idiots outnumbered the rational population - and the movie Idiocracy will need to be reclassified as a prescient documentary.

Re: Trump/Clinton tied in new Rasmussen poll...
If you were planning to vote and you stay home because you don't like either of the candidates for President of the United States, you're an idiot. There are dozens of state and local positions up for election and usually several Propositions to decide on. If you don't want to vote for President, skip that part of the ballot.
-
Re: Trump/Clinton tied in new Rasmussen poll...
I'm voting for Trump. Hillary is a joke.

It's not that simple. Some of us know Trump is a dangerous and possibly (perhaps even probably) a foolish choice; however, we are willing to risk it to send a message to the democratic party and to the "establishment" -- left-wing and right-wing.
Plus, I think his foreign policy priorities and judgement are better than Hillary's. And that matters to me.

LOL political parties ever getting messages. If you want a party to get your message, give them a few million dollars.

I'm now rooting for Trump to win the general just to watch Boutons lose his fucking mind.

The democratic party became a moderate party because it thought that that was the way to win elections... and it was right. But times have changed. The republican party has move to the right and dragged the democratic party with it. We have to reverse course. A loss with trigger some introspective thinking and perhaps some changes... we don't want a moderate democratic party.

25 years now it has been a moderate party, and probably still needs to be one to win elections in this country.

Not so sure....Bernie is no moderate, but his nomination was stumped more by closed primaries than by policy...
-
Re: Trump/Clinton tied in new Rasmussen poll...
Not only that. but if he tried to go independent now he would tear the democratic party apart and we would be looking at a Trump administration...so progressive democrats can either stay home or hold their noses and vote Hillary..

I don't think a socialist can get elected president in this nation. As soon as barrages of tv ads start appearing with that word he's fucked in a general election.

Pretty much. LOL when people make fun of the Republicans and their quest for ideological purity and then say they're Bernie or bust.

Considering that millennials now outnumber baby boomers.....if they voted in huge numbers I wouldn't be so sure...

A few days before the 2012 election, Rasmussen guaranteed a Bishop Gekko win in a blowout.

Yeah I didn't see this show up on Realclear. They usually agregate all polls. Somehow this one's missing.
Did they just phoned republicans or something? :lol

Maybe for the dems
With his five blowout wins Tuesday night, Donald Trump has passed Mitt Romney’s popular vote total from four years ago and is on a trajectory that could land him more Republican votes than any presidential candidate in modern history – by a lot.
Trump surged to more than 10 million votes, according to totals that include Tuesday’s preliminary results across the Northeast. That’s already about 250,000 more than Romney earned in the entire 2012 primary season and 153,000 more than John McCain earned in 2008.

Meaningless until 1-2 months of the general elections.
It's hard to imagine Trump is somehow going to morph into a know it all by then. He'll just continue his insults, no details on policy and so on imo.

It's starts with educating the American people about what socialism actually is -- at least Bernie's brand of "democratic socialism". That word used to be a bad word even within the democratic party but not so much anymore. The people who voted for Bernie were not the fringe and most of them knew exactly what they were voting for. Things are changing.

Debates seem to do the most for the end-results, tbh. Gore lost because he was a jackass to Bush in the debates :lol

The young population think Che Guevara is/was cool. :lol
They dont know shit.
They may not be a fringe anymore but they also disregard most of the bad connotations of something that is viewed negatively and think its just so cool.

You stupid fucks always, ignorantly, slanderously repeat that Bernie's socialism as Marxist socialism, communism
which of his items are text-book classic socialism, and esp Marxist socialism?
https://berniesanders.com/issues/ ???
Bernie is a social democrat, where the govt and society are "of the people, by the people, for the people", instead of the US's current "of the capitalists, by the capitalists, for the capitalists" and of course the capitalists are protected by the militarized NatSec/police state.
Capitalism is a great system ... for capitalists. As the fucked-up US show now, it capitalism FAILS for, SCREWS, impoverishes non-capitalists.

Labels aside, if my money is gonna be taken from me and redistributed, what incentive is there for me to risk investing, opening a business, inventing anything, excelling at anything if it doesn't profit me? I might as well do nothing, and I won't be much worse off than someone who knocks themselves out trying to get ahead. I know this is a simplistic example, but as basketball fans, how do we think that these fantastic players who excel at certain skills, perform at a high level and command such attention/excitement shouldn't get paid accordingly and/or then taxed at some absurd rate?

Basketball is a bad example, it's not even close to a free market. In a free market LeBron would be making $50 million a year and the Knicks, Lakers, and Clippers would buy up all the talent while small market teams like the Spurs, Jazz, Thunder, and Pelicans would probably fold because no one would care about a league where most teams got to be the Washington Generals in perpetuity.

I did say it's a simplistic example. I'm thinking more Danny Green type player - someone who has a limited period to earn his money for the rest of his life. His $10+million would have a tax rate of about 70% under Bernie's plan ($2-10 million at 66% iirc). Lebron gets most of his via endorsements and (like MJ) will continue to a long time after his career is over.

Truth nukes
Can you imagine a salary cap in the real world? :lol that would basically be communism.
Actually good ol Bernie Sanders is trying to implement a Soft salary cap. Which would make the world a fair place. But of course Bernie has no chance vs the corporations.

Most NBA players are "like" Danny Green - limited time to earn money. Lebron is the exception.

limited time to earn more at the veteran's minimum in one year after taxes than the entire median household earns in 10 -15 years... oh how sad we are for these ball players and their limited prospects :cry :cry :cry

What do you think they should earn? Don't you think that someone with special talent/skill should earn more than the median household? in 5-10 years then? in < 5 years? What specifically and who should decide that? The basketball players shouldn't be allowed to form their union? to negotiate their salaries?

And if the majority of his money is taken in taxes, what exactly will drive him to succeed in the first place? pride? nice feelings that he's helping out someone who's sitting on his butt doing nothing?
And if I have money to invest, will I risk it if I have to turn the majority of my gain over in taxes? No, I won't.
The bigger picture is who will strive, risk, invest in R&D, try anything if there is not much to gain (or if it's taken from you)?

Where exactly have I shown greed? Is it greedy that I'm happy that he took less than he could have gotten on the open market, stayed a Spur, and hopefully sets himself/family up for life? If Corey Joseph could get 7.5 million, I'm pretty sure that DG could have gotten more than $10m. You would have him pay a lot of taxes and I would like to see him rewarded for his hard work, keep a lot of that reward and incentivize him to work even harder for his next contract.
Shouldn't Bernie practice what he preaches? According to Greta, Bernie has a tax rate of 13.5% on his $205k.
