Has there been a better defensive player in transition in NBA history tbh?
there probably was, but he is clearly the best, and has been for the last few years now.
But he always forgot to box out
He's unbelieveable in that aspect, he's like a soccer goalkeeper.
I gotta say that this year he's as important defensively as Kawhi is.
LDN doing LDN things.
Per par.
Tbh.
Draymond...
I have never seen a better transition defender in my time watching NBA.
DG on both ends was huge.
His defense is CRIMINALLY underrated, even by (especially by?) spurfan
Danny is a better on ball defender than Kawhi. Better instincts too, which isn't a knock on Kawhi. Kawhi is better with ball denial, playing passing lanes, rebound, etc
Larry Bird was actually pretty amazing. Never seen another player breakup so many 2-1 and 3-1 fast breaks. The most iconic transition d play was the 84 Finals Game 7 block on Rambis. 6:42

tayshaun and lebron were famous for the chasedown blocks, but danny is incredible at positioning and disrupting plays from ahead of the ball, including 2 on 1 situations. he's awesome
I love Danny, but dammit just work on your handles! Youre a shorting guard and should be able to put the ball on the floor for more than 2 dribbles, especially running a break.
This would make him so much more valuable on the floor than he already is when he's not hitting his jumper.
Gif request of that (sequence) block on Westbrook and transition 3 that follows.
I have no problem with what he is, just wish he would improve on one thing. Work on your handles. Not asking him to become Bob Cousy out there, just be able to dribble on the break. 28 is still young, guys improve subtleties their games all the time, if they want to.
What's with folks trying to make this CoG versus CoK? People massively underestimate the extent to which the Spurs are built on their perimeter defense. It's irreplaceable. Spurs fans should recognize how critical Danny is, but they don't even have to compare him to Kawhi. It's not like offense where only one can score at a time.
To answer the OP's question...No.
DG is the best transition defender I've ever seen tbh. You can knock him for a lot of shit but his transition D is amazing. There's literally nobody else I would want in that position than Verde.
Playoffs Danny <3
Danny haters :lmao low iq faggots
Not only does he get blocks but he seems to strip the best players in the league often without fouling. Ridiculous how hard that in the modern game.
After a very underwhelming on both sides of the ball series last year against the Clippers, Danny Green has been fantastic so far this postseason.
He has been the third best player in this series/postseason, and may need to be our third/fourth best player going forward to beat GS/Cleveland.
:lol at those wanting to get rid of him
Would like to see the Spurs run him off screens a little more and have him shoot some mid range jumpers going forward. He had a nice wide open mid range shot last night that he knocked down smoothly.
Prime Wade was really good too

I guess that gif's laughing at you for not knowing
:lol at those who didn't want him to return.
<-------- So glad he stayed!
kevin martin and kl have better 3% this playoff. but yes dg stepped up his game from reg season
