Did Bill Worrell vote for Harden? Maybe Clyde Drexler voted for him?
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
Spurs are just playing for Second this season....I'm proud of Kawhi and frustrated at the same time, any other year 67 wins gets you the MVP and odds on favorite to win it all!!! lol
Quick note WTH is Harden doing in the MVP discussion! lol
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
NO flashbacks please... Hope Durant doesn't go off cause Kawhi finished higher like Hakeem did back in the day. Kawhi has to show up again like he did in Game 3.

Bill woreell didnt even have kawhi at all at his ballot and had harden third. Zach lowe was taking a dig at him this morning. Hopefully he loses his voting previliages next year. Gotta get rid of all the senite voters at this point.

Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
Interesting side note: Kawhi won DPOY and finished 2nd in MVP. He was named on 129 of 130 ballots for DPOY and on 122 of 131 ballots for MVP. The guy who left him off of his DPOY ballot (who gave a 3rd place vote to Trevor Ariza) also completely omitted Kawhi from the MVP ballot (but gave James Harden a 3rd place vote).
That guy is Rockets TV dude Bill Worrell.
Shocking. Absolutely shocking.
Edit: beaten to the punch but left here for posterity.

Nice to see him finish 2nd. :tu

Zach lowe was taking a dig at him this morning. It's probably well documented and talked about within his peers..Bill worrell that is. I'm sure hes not the only one who thinks the guy is an idiot otherwise he wouldnt have made that post.

My question is why the hell do local play-by-play commentators have a vote to begin with? Just stupid to give a bunch of homer broadcasters a vote.
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
Nice. Now he has to lead this team to the WCF like the MVP (of the Spurs at least) he is.

Interesting I didn't know local play by play commentators could vote. My home team is the Hornets and one of the commentators is Dell Curry. It makes me laugh thinking that Dell obviously voted for Steph granted Steph winning the award was legit.

Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
great achievement for KL ...not sure LeBron or Durant will agree.
Maybe KD has a little extra motivation tonight
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
:tu Nice.
Hope he goes off tonight.
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
Kawhi has achevied more than expected this year tbh. Winning back to back DPOY was something i wasnt very confident with. First team all-nba is a big surprise. I knew he was going to be all nba teamer though but beating a generational talent and established superstar was very unlikely....
You dont go from 16.5ppg to finishing 2nd in mvp and first team all nba. Thats usually unheard off. Hes getting the votes. Wouldnt surprise me if he wins one before he turns 27.
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
2005 Media...
Hassan whiteside wins dpoy and Durant and Lebro take first team honours.
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
Congrats to Kawhi.
Now please make good of it and put the Thunder in check tonight.
-
Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
That's ridiculous that he didn't get one first place vote for what he does at both ends of the court.

Leonard finishes 2nd in MVP Voting
We all knew that Curry was going to be the heavy favorite for MVP, but still can't believe what an amazing job the front office did in acquiring and developing Kawhi. To turn George Hill into the 15th pick, and turn that into a legitimate MVP contender is nothing short of amazing and gives this organization a bright future!
Curry was first with 1,310 votes
Kawhi was second with 634 votes
Lebron was third with 631 votes
Westbrook was fourth with 486 votes
Durant was fifth with 147 votes

In b4 the merge.

Dumbass, it's the most "VALUABLE" player not the 'best player in the world" award. LeCramp took a 2 week vacation midseason & played Church League defense.

Kawhi may not be better than Lebron, but, he is more valuable to his team than Lebron
They do not give an award for the best player

Spurs without Kawhi are still a very good team. Maybe even 4-5 seed. Cavs without LeBron? Well we've seen their record when he was in Miami.

Calling Kawhi as third place in MVP voting is hardly bashing. Just being realistic. I love Kawhi. I'm just not a homer in believing his game is more important to Sours than Curry/LeBron to Dubs/Cavs.

With the Spurs and OKC series tied at 2-2 and with Game 5 in San Antonio the last person I wanna hear about today is Harden...

You're talking about the Cavs when Kyrie was still recovering from off-season surgery & Love was still being treated like a role player.
Right now, the Cavs would be a better version of the Blazers w/o LeBron while the Spurs would be a better version of the Mavs w/o Kawhi.

Cavs standing in eastern conference minus LeBron: 15, 15, 13 and 10. With LeBron 1st or 2nd.

Let's play like it tonight KL . If his 3's are falling, RIP OKC :claw

Still would have to win a Game 6 in OKC or a do or die Game 7 at home.

Re: Kawhi finished second in MVP voting.
finals mvp > regular season mvp.
i hope no regular season mvp but 4 finals mvp for kawhi at the end of his career.

Huge honor in what has been a tremendous year for Kawhi. I am still so shocked at the level of player he is and he changed Tim's last year's which makes me grateful for him even more.

Warriors could of probably made it to the WCF without curry so not really buying that, people undersell how much overall talent that team has. I would the cavs without lebron over the spurs without kawhi in a series. There is at least an argument for kawhi being second.

What's kinda amazing about this, that most people are missing...
Is that out of the TOP 4 candidates in MVP votes...OKC has 2 of them.

This further underlines the absurd mockery that was Pop benching him in game 2.

They Asked him, "What Can You Work On To Get Better ?"
He paused, chucked arrogantly, paused again, and then said " I guess my turnover assist ratio just to say something". Then he said, REGARDLESS what happens in the playoffs we accomplished something nobody else in the history of the game, think about that"
