Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Thanks for a great career Tim, shame you will have to go out like this. If we were consistent this series would of been over in 5. But alas here we are.

Ain't over till the fat lady sings...:)

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
He should've finished all games.... :pctoss
Gets a great block on Westbrook and Pop takes him out...
Thanks for those 5 rings, Tim, it's all on you, as we can see...

I would love to agree, and have yet to doubt this team. But after blowing so many double digit leads and playing so poorly down the stretch. I have lost faith.
This team is done, we just saw Duncans last home game. Hopefully we can retool this summer.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Thanks, TD. You're short a couple of rings because of Poop/Enrique.
-

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Thanks Tim. Gave us everything til the wheels fell off.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
I think he calls it a career after this season, whether it's Thursday night or later. We all knew it was eventually coming, but we didn't know when it would happen. He has done more for this franchise that any of us could've imagined. I hope he sticks around in some capacity after a much deserved long vacation.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
The season did not end tonight.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Team is done, been a pleasure Tim:hat
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Agree with spurstech that it ain't over til it's over, but it's going to take a miracle at this point.

Yep.
Pop pulling him in game 6 2013 was still the biggest bullshit move, i don't even care if it made sense in theory.
Whatever. This series has proved he was carrying a lot of over inflated egos, and he's the 2nd GOAT imo. We won't see another one like him in our lifetimes imho.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Things don't look good right now but I'm not willing to say it's over yet. Wait until the end of game 6 before you start doing these eulogies.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Sucks he has to go out being shit on and disrespected by Popazit

I've doubted them all season praying they would prove me wrong, but I knew with this style of play it was inevitable. Also I was thinking that the only way the Spurs sign a player like Durant is if they put him out of the playoffs early. Doesn't look like that is gonna happen.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
GOAT of his generation and a top 5 player of all time. Love ya Timmy.

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
No shame. At 40 he still goes down fighting. If you can't walk away a 6 time champion, this is how I want you to go.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Great run Tim but it is time to take the horse behind the barn and pull the trigger. Take Pop and the other big 2 with you...

I agree. Definitely not on Tim. He needed others to pick him up for once and it didn't happen.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Kinda a shame to go out like this tbh. Still the GOAT though.
-
Props to Duncan. the old man is not going down without a fight....
:tu
Thank you Timmy. thanks for playing your last games as if they were your last games ever :cry

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Thank you Timmy! Those fans at the Center should have paid more respect to you. Fuck Jordan, you are the GOAT
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
And the fans couldn't even get to their seats until the 2nd and 4th quarters.
Fire whoever thought having a Whataburger in the arena was a good idea.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Phil, Carlisle and even Tom Rivers would have gotten at least 8 rings out of Timmy tbh. At the very least no atrocities like 6, 0.4, and getting outcoached by Avery Johnson.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Tim's career is not over yet.
-
Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Tim Duncan. You will always be my favorite player of all time. Thank you for everything you did not only for the game of basketball, but also for this city.
San Antonio will always be a championship town thanks to you.
Regardless of how this series goes down,we love you.

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Yeah let's not blame Tim. He only took the money and couldn't do shit to help but soak up fouls and blow point blank layups. But he's untouchable because the past. That's what's wrong with homer fans. They get too sentimental over a player and allow that player to wart himself on the ass of the team until he has to be carried off on a stretcher, and it costs the team.
I like Tim, but he's an NBA player making an NBA salary and starting on an NBA team in the playoffs. He doesn't get a pass for shitty play because maybe he doesn't take the 7 million player option (lol sure).

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
It's like when you see that Tim had nothing, you knew he gave all he had. No reason to play another season. Time to hang the sneakers and take your seat among the all-time greats.

It's the truth. You want to sacrifice a season to pay homage to a guy who's holding on to his career because it's all he has left? You should be a Lakers fan.

And give up 7 million to sit the bench? Probably not.

Yes he took the money but he was playing fine before he injured his other knee.... Do you blame Tim for the injury?

Spurs need to get intense and use their porpoise brains in gear for a win on Thursday. If LMA isn't injured we should be able bring this back home.

pussies and assholes blame injuries.

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
Tim was much more effective in the first half of the year before the right knee flared up.
I don't know if there is something that can be done to help his right knee out for next year, but I'm not sure that would matter at this point.

Re: Thanks for a Great Career Tim
He deserved more, he deserved 8 rings but bad luck got in the way. It's a shame, if he had the luck of Kobe, he'd have 8 rings, 6 Finals MVP's, and 3 MVP's. However, 5 rings, 3 Finals MVP's and 2 MVP's, including playing in his prime during arguably the toughest superstar era ever, is amazing. If Duncan was in his prime today he'd feast on the league including GS.

I so hope so. Not just because I want to see him play in person more than once, but I really don't want him going into the same HoF class as rapist.

I don't want him to be out there if he's completely done. Better to end on a higher note. At the end of the day, he still has 5 rings and will be recognized as a top 5 player of all time.
