Did our MVP let us down?
Second most votes for MVP but unable to lead us past the other MVP finalists. Can we count on him to lead us as future after Big Three?
-
Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Stop, bro, I know this is your shtick, but poor timing..
You're a Parker, Aldridge and Kyle Anderson homer..you couldn't have picked a worse combination for tonight's game, unless you included David West:lol

I'm a Spurs fan. I was at game and my son told me that he wasn't sure if Kawhi and Aldridge could have the same success as Big Three. I told him that at this point our run is over.

While Kawhi was making these plays in the 4th...I wonder what Parker, Aldridge and Kyle were doing in those minutes. Brick shots?

Kawhi copped a shitload of contact in both plays!

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Kawhi led teams are unable to lead us to NBA finals

You're a good dad. They'll get over it with enough listening to Taylor Swift's latest drop.

This is dumb. Just need more youth around them. The difference in youth and athleticism between the two teams is actually what is deciding this series besides the refs.

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Mvp didnt get enough of the ball. Second half he did a lot of spotting up in the corner . This is our Durant. Imagine okc spotting Durant for almost a half.
You think after that inspirational dunk putting spurs up 4 under 5mins left in game would help the team recognize Kawai needs the ball .
The guy bringing the ball up didnt think so.

at the same time i think durant would be more vocal/demonstrative about getting the ball

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
WTF I tought the Klaw was the new face of the franchise....he was the only one busting balls everyone else played like utter dinosaur shit

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
One of the lone bright spots last night. Yeah, definitely let us down :rolleyes

True. But his teammates know the kind of guy he is. Its not the spurs way of doing things either
-
Re: Did our MVP let us down?
The reason we are down 3-2 is because Tim is done

The same Durant that let Westbrook shoot 30+ times a few games ago?

What does that have to do with your original comment? That Durant is a great player and should be getting the ball? No one is debating that.

He was literally snatching balls out of players hands while LMA was missing 5 footers and tony was ball hogging. I'm no player fan but this shit certainly is not on kawhi and this shit is not over!

Bench certainly didn't produce
Wasted game from Green

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
My God, the topics here are just getting worse and worse.

i think there should be a greater emphasis on getting kawhi the ball, whether that comes from the point guard, the coach, or kawhi himself
he's capable of taking over late in games, we've seen it. its frustrating when we go away from it. OKC is usually able to get the ball to KD when they need him late

we wasted a LMA giant game, we wasted a revival game for Parker on the road, we wasted a good game from Green at home.... ya we deserve to be where we are right now
Without Tim this team is lost tbh... there is a reason why Pop is always saying that Tim is the fundation of everything for the Spurs. Team is not prepared to cope with POs without him. Even Pop seems to be lost without his HOFer tbh

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Oh yes. Leonard was the problem. Good call OP.
Imagine if Leonard shot nearly as good as LMAlpha and MVParker did.
Or showed the work ethic and ability to stay in shape like Diaw.
If only he'd box out and hit the glass like the other bigs.
Maybe show a little heart on defense.
Clearly the weak link of the starters. Wonder if he could keep up with the sizzling bench?
-
Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Kawhi was the least of our problems last night. I wish he would have been a little more aggressive in the fourth, but that was more than made up for by his boatload of steals, rebs, and points earlier in the game. The problems were/are:
1) No bigs to stop Adams/Kanter from grabbing a million boards and getting easy put-backs
2) Tim Duncan going full geriatric (see also #1)
3) Pop being a stubborn mule and not giving Boban a chance to see what he can bring to the table (see also #1)
4) Pop playing West and Diaw simultaneously for long stretches at critical junctures (see also #1)
5) The refs treating the Spurs like they are playing a game of "Operation" while allowing OKC to go full street ball mode
6) Parker playing some serious hero ball at critical junctures of the game, resulting in bad shots
7) Aldridge going stone cold from the field in the fourth

Re: Did our MVP let us down?
Kawhi definitely gave it all.
