Felt relieved since he looked ready to hang them up...
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Yeah man.
But he accomplished so much in the NBA.
Couldn't ask more of him.

Tim fought like a lion tonight. Like he did in every game of his career.
Just LOVE him

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I just thought Manu had more of a retirement vibe about him when he fouled out, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tim hasn't made up his mind at all.
Maybe none of them have?
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Meh
He will retire super rich
It's not like he dieded or something
Stop crying
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
It sucks that Porker sabotaged Tim's last chance at a title for his own ego. That selfish faggot really can't stand seeing any of his teammates shine.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Game 5 is the one that hurt. This one was a foregone conclusion.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
This baby is going to turn into a monster. Tim and Manu will come back and you'll have to watch them die every year for the next 3 years. You all thought Tim would go out a champ, like he'd walk away from money but he'll come back and be the relic off the bench that Pop is forced to play because he's Tim Duncan. Think Bill Russell on the LOB stage when people are trying to get him the fuck off of it, just hanging around. That's going to be Tim.

Yep. Team was lost after game three and game five just absolutely crapped the bed into this Chipotle-themed diarrhea mess.

Not nearly.
I really wanted Tim and Manu to have their last game at home.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I have a great idea: next year should be a Farewell Tour (a la Kobe) for the Big 3 together.

I agree we should tank tbh

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Didn't watch. Watched the very end from when Timmy was hugging Durant.
Didn't give myself much of a chance..
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Why he did that mistake not retiring last season? I didn't thought Tim will be like all those who not know when to retire... With this season now he he walking down in most humiliating way, fuck it, it killing me...

Crapped the bed in game five...beggars can't be choosers.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Maybe the right way for him to go out would be for Kawhi to give him his team USA roster spot (or someone else) and let him get his gold. Manu will be playing in Rio at least.
We can all hope his last moments on the court left him unfulfilled and wanting to run it back one more time. He looked done earlier this series but came into his own by the end.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
He smiled, so I smiled, he's at peace with what happened, I will be too...eventually

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Nope. Did my crying after 5.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I was begging him to come back the entire time.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I was holding it in. I did see the vibe the teammates gave Manu as if it looked like he's ready to hang it up. As for Duncan, he looked really sad too. Man, I don't know what I'm going to do when they retire...
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
i didnt think i would but had to leave the room where people were to be alone and let loose some tears for like 30 secs. very emotional. not so much sad we lost but sad its over for him. spent my entire teen and adult life watching tim. i fuckin love him. thanks for everything!!

This has made Tim even hungrier.
He will be back and Spurs will be a top 2 favorite once again next year.
I think our small weaknesses, enlarged this series by Pop you could say, are rather obvious and with a few tweaks we'll be great again.
I would love for both Tim and Manu to be on board once again. They still make us better and you can't better than those two for less money.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Timmy to the end. Still a star.

Manu is retiring. He was frustrated. I think Timmy too. This was his retirement, farewell game. Being the player that he is he went swinging. I think Pop, everyone would gladly take him back though frankly he hasn't looked good for a long time and he had the 0 point 0 rebound games this season. Age has caught up. I'd like him as an assistant coach if he does retire and we might have a vacancy the way Messsina is getting interviews.

Hopefully if Timmy does decide that he still has something in the tank they dont go trying to convince Manu to come back as well.....
If Timmy wants to return and play 15 ish minutes a night on nights he can bring it, he can come back as long as he wants.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
welled up watching him leave through the tunnel...felt like it would be the last time I saw #21 leave the court

What the point? To come back only to another playoff dissepointment as this team will much likely collapse once again under the pressure...

Yup it is clear this is the younger players' team now. And if they don't have the testicles to win games and show up, it's unfair to put these two through it when they can no longer carry the burden they used to.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I cried... laughing my black ass off!!!:lol

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Cry, no. Sulking, fighting back tears all night yes. It's the end of an era, movement. Like watching a band live your whole life then seeing it without the lead singer...fucking sucks, so pissed

5 was when he retired not today

Sabotaged the team by being the #3 scorer on good shooting and dishing out more than double the assists of anyone else on the team. What a sabotage.
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
No farewell tour. Spurs moving forward. Like LMA said, not a bad season for his 1st year together with them. Expecting them to justify that RS record in the playoffs is naive and wishful thinking but that's en vogue here.
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I don't think this is it. I can see him returning for 6 but in a reduced role ~10-15 minutes a night.
His defense is his only saving grace. It could all come down to that right knee.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Don't know why but the part that got me the most was seeing Nazr Mohammed call out to Timmy as he was turning and then seeing them hug. It was a reminder of all the great times, especially that epic 2005 title run.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
I have been watching Tim for over 20 plus years since he was a sophomore at WF but I was actually happy with the way he left the floor. The ending was perfect for the player he was. He got to play out the whole entire 4th quarter and I thought it was cool how Pop respected Tim by not taking him out because knowing Tim he wouldn't have wanted a standing ovation. At the end Duncan seemed genuinely happy and reflective and because of that I could be at peace with it. The OKC players all gave him respect and even the crowd did as he exited in the tunnel. I also thought it was cool how Tim acknowledged the fans as we walked in the tunnel. Besides losing the ending was great. I hope he retires because outside of this game he was terrible in this series.

Didn't even notice that.

Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
Pop didn't even take him out with under a minute to give the crowd a moment to acknowledge him. He deserved that.
-
Re: Nearly teared up watching Timmy exit...
shit i cried like a lil bitch. if you're a real spurs fan i don't see how you could hold back the tears.

Tim didn't announce a retirement so no need for pomp and circumcision.

He will be back for 1 more season.
