I think he stays another year but to be fair LMA lost in the first last year like the Spurs did and he choose an aging core plus Leonard over Liliard

Sure if he takes 17million, but he wont, cause teams like Lakers and Magic will offer him the max. I rather spend that money on a combination of players, like Noah, Batum, Claxton.
I would go after Hibbert or Noah on the cheap. Zach Lowe mentioned that he could see Hibbert getting around $10 million, Noah probably would get a short term deal with decent money like $12-15 over two years. Hibbert seems mentally weak but can still protect the glass and would give us a starting big ( I am thinking around 25 mpg) to pair with LMA. I think Diaw is gone, so maybe KA will step into his role but I think that Boban and West will be back.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
We hold the line and wait for Boogie. Boogie and Kiwi with the right pieces will boss the league.

If Durant desperately wants to win, he'll join GSW. Pop completely fucked the Spurs' chances with his stubbornness and ineptitude.

Pop can never handle an ego like Boogie. He's no Phil Jackson.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Hibbert has a low center of gravity, even worse than Boban. He's also a terrible rebounder. With the NBA going small, getting a slow footed stiff like him is the worst thing you could do.

Knicks will overpay Jeff Teague, Hawks will be desperate.. Sign and trade Bazemore for Diaw & Mills
Sure, but what will they do with the rest of the cap space? Perhaps LeBron?

Exactly, the Spurs need a youth movement. So tired of the team becoming a retirement home for older vets so they can have their last hurrah.
Everyone needs to go except Kawhi, LaMarcus, Green and Simmons. Spurs can get something from Diaw and Parker, Mills and Kyle. Let Miller, Bonner, KMart and West walk. They need to REVAMP the entire team. Starting with the point guard. They can bring in Bertans from overseas, he is a great three point shooter. They also need an athletic big and a defensive wing.

There is a difference in being a terrible rebounded and someone who boxes out the other bigs while the PF grabs the board. I am curious to know if that is the case with him. I do not disagree with Hibbs going the way of the dinosaur but he can still be useful in an 24 mpg capacity, I think I would take him over Noah simply because Noah has a ton of injury issues and probably would have a higher asking price. I think that Pop will experiment more with LMA at center next season anyway.

Inserting Noah in the starting lineup would be so good. He has great hands and is a great passer. He also is a very good pick n roll defender and would work in our scheme. Yes he is injury prone, but I rather have Bobon as our big lumbering jack and Hibbert who would probably cost more.

Re: Starting lineup for next year?
It's crazy to say it, but I think if we had a rim protector/rebounder even at the level of like a Bismack Biyombo I think we'd be in the WCF. Mike Conley would also be a big step in the right direction. We would compete with him, a rim protector, and our current guys. Might need another shooter or two, but this offseason should do Patty well.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
All I want is a new starting point guard next season.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Green
Kawhi
LMA
Conley
Whiteside
Bench:
Timmy
Manu
Tony
Lin
Boban
Bertans
Simmons
Kyle
(I don't think Timmy and Manu return, but the only way I would want them to return is if the big three lead the 2nd unit and come off the bench together.)
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Excited to see whatever team they put together, hopefully Manu/Tim can retire so the spurs can move on with a future team.

What kind of contract does he have tbh? I really like what I saw this playoffs from him.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
- Conley, Bazemore e Matt barnes would be excelent options (the three together would be perfect)
- bring Bertans and Multinovic or Livio?
- try to get one or two rim protectors
- draft thon maker or taurean prince
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
The Spurs need to draft Dejounte Murray of Washington.
Need to move up to about 14-15 to do it -- just like they did with Kawhi.
Then bring over Bertans.
Tim and Manu need to come back.
Bonner is gone.
Aldridge -- can't live with him, can't live without him.
RC earn your money -- do an intervention and tell Pop he's gotta be more contrite until he wins big again (and shave).

Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Yeah, I know. That was more wishful thinking than a prediction. Conley or Whiteside is a possibility, but not both with Timmy returning at 7 million.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Rather trade for Teague instead of overpay for an injury prone Conley. A lot less of a risk.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Since SA will probably whiff on KD.
Trade Diaw/Mills for Teague.
Sign Gasol
Kick tires w/ Terrence Jones/Ryan Anderson/Teletovic
Kick tires w/ Allen Crabbe, Brandon Rush, Wes Johnson
Sign James Ennis or Ish Smith as the 3rd PG
Bring over Bertans, draft best prospect available.
Re: Starting lineup for next year?
Conley
Green
Leonard
Aldridge
Pau
Bench
Timmy
Manu
Tony
Boban
Noah
