I'm pretty sure it was tough for him too. It was the correct decision after all. He also probably in the "baby making years now".

Damn, I was hoping to see him play for the gold this summer. Oh well, I understand why he isn't. Hope he does in 2020 though

I agree. This was a no brainier with his girlfriend pregnant. I'm just surprised it took this long for him to decline when all reports had him as a lock as earliest as this morning.

I'm just bummed for him and the timing when he's been invited. He's had to turn them down. He's mentioned numerous times he wants to play and the honor it would be. I hope for his sake they ask him for 2020 but won't be surprised if they don't even bother.

damn, was really looking forward to watching him play.

Can't say I blame him, I wouldn't want to go either.

I'd honestly love to see him play, just because most guys who play the olympics tend to come back the following season as better players. But can't argue with not wanting to go down that cesspool in Rio.
