It's nice to dream.
if it were true I think that'll be my reaction for real lol
Spurs whiff on both and bring back West, re up Boban, and bring over
Milutinov/ or call up LaLanne.
My bold prediction...KD is staying in OKC
Even in the best case scenario Gasol won't sign for the room exception.
lets wait and see, but i am very hopeful.....
Coach Pop and the Spurs culture
Duncan, Ginobili, Leonard and Aldridge, etc....
the state of Texas
the professionalism of Spurs players....
:bobo
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day...
Not going to happen. KD ain't going anywhere.
Funny pic lol
Some here are saying it's not happening but I'm keeping hope
That pic with Durant and the rest says it all. If he comes, we win it all.
I think he joins the Spurs next year, when the cap jumps up to $107 mil.
Then we can get KD and George Hill.
If for some miracle he signs this year, we automatically trade Green, Diaw and Anderson to Philly for picks or Nerelens Noel. That would clear $16 mil with Noel or $20 mil with picks, then sign players like Bertan, Lorbeck,
Forbes , etc to fill the roster.
I'm not saying that he has to be a rotation player but having him as the 3rd center allows him to get some NBA minutes when he's not in the D-League and gives the Spurs a cheap big with upside to put on the books for the next four seasons for less than $ 5 million while he develops as opposed to waiting for him to possibly improve when playing overseas which is hit or miss.
He was taken with the 26th pick so his salary would be $1,026,000 roughly based on where he was drafted (it can be as low as 80% of that number and as high as 120%) if he were to stay overseas for two more years then he would not be bound to rookie scale but if he comes over before then the Spurs could have him on the books for the next four seasons at a figure of just over $1 million a year. With the cap hitting $110 million he would only be making 0009 % of the cap in 2017 and just over 1% of the cap this season.
Better for him to come over now and get some minutes in the NBA and some experience in the D-league like Boban instead of maybe developing overseas.
I predict that they swing and miss on Durant, Gasol, and West, and settle for Hibbert.
The Spurs could just trade away TP and I'd have the same reaction tbh.
