Assuming we get Gasol, who are some other players you'd like to take a closer look at? There aren't really any impact players remaining though.

Dedmon was my #1 choice going into the off-season, but haven't heard anything about him after Orlando extended their QO..
There aren't any penetrating guards on the market, so assuming the Spurs acquire Gasol, I'd prefer a rebounding specialist vs. the Warriors..unfortunately, Thomas Robinson may be the only option, and he's really bad at basketball..
Another perimeter player to help Leonard/Green on defense is essential, but pointless to acquire when they already have young players on the roster(Simmons, Kyle)..

Unfortunately the Spurs dont't have much to work with but outside the box there must be good deals out there.
Spurs is also a great team to look good in if you have reasonable basketball IQ.

Yeah, the team needs another playmaker or at the very least a guy who can get to the basket that's why I put Stephenson in there. :lol I guess we just have to hope Simmons has significantly improved from last season and Murray develops at a miraculous rate. As for the bigs, LMA/Gasol/Diaw/Boban are all extremely skilled on offense so we don't really need anything but a solid rebounder/defender. I think there are some decent options left but I'm not sure if the team has enough $$$ to get one of them.Quote:

I'd guess the Spurs are relatively content and if they're going to make a splash it'll be via trade before the next deadline.
One interesting option-- considering how different Duncan felt at the end of the season compared with the beginning-- is him retiring now, but coming out of retirement after next season's all star break to boost the bench.

Jarnell Stokes seems like a "Spurs" type of player too. I actually wouldn't mind him being the D West/Bobo replacement if they are going to scrape the bottom.

Henderson and Harkness are the only three/fours that I see as fits. Not a lot of room for Robinson.

Um, Harkless played well last season and can easily play either the 3 or 4 position. Depending on who else we sign or retain, Harkless and Reed would be go value signings for a cash strapped team. Neither would be huge impact players, but could help balance out the bench with some youth and athleticism.Quote:
