He could really help the summer league team win that championship.
Ehhhhh, if he does he does.

CLEVELAND, Ohio. – If free agent David West chooses to continue his playing career, the Cleveland Cavaliers are one of many teams interested in acquiring the power forward, league sources informed cleveland.com.
West, 35, is "still weighing all of his options," cleveland.com was told. Retirement is one, following his lone season with the San Antonio Spurs.
The 13-year veteran opted out of a salary that would have paid him $1.5 million for the 2016-17 campaign to enter free agency. Last off-season he did the same, but it was a major financial hit. He declined a $12.6 million player option with the Indiana Pacers and ended up signing with the Spurs for the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million.
There is no timetable on a decision to play or hang it up.
Cleveland has the $3.5 million taxpayer mid-level exception at its disposal.
This off-season Cleveland has lost center Timofey Mozgov to the Los Angeles Lakers and Matthew Dellavedova is headed to the Milwaukee Bucks.
For his career, West has averaged 14.8 points and 6.9 rebounds. He's played for New Orleans, Indiana and San Antonio.
Also, how to make twitter link visible when posting? thanks in advance
:lol Not even mad, dude knows what he wants. Good for him tbh.
He did what he could last year but it obviously wasn't enough. Good for him. You keep chasing that ring DWest.
West and Draymond yelling and1 at the same time
He knows our secrets! :lol
so they got west and zaza on the same team to bully everyone else.
Kevin Durant
Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
Raymond Green
Andre Iguodala
ZaZa Paskdkasjdkjalks
David West
Shaun Livingston

Barbosa, Speights, Rush, Ezeli, Varejao, Ian Clark, McAdoo are the left-over free agents.
Sell Out!
Good riddance. He was embarrassing in the playoffs.
He may go to Cavaliers next year.
Welp, he's gonna get that ring now.
If you look really focused, you can already see the pieces of nuts and limbs flying over the courts of the NBA.
Diaw and West gone in a matter of minutes....
RIP Turd towers
It's disheartening to see this happen with teams like the Warriors, Cavs and Heat (from 3-5 years ago). I get the quest for the ring, bu this makes the NBA even more of a circus and a joke. Though some could claim the Spurs did this last year with West....just not to the extent of the other teams mentioned above.
On the flip side I do envy the Warriors swiftness and plan. To secure ZaZa and West that quickly after getting a commitment from Durant shows they had/have a plan and move on it. Certainly easier to do when you sign a Durant, but wish the Spurs would move a little quicker and get some guys inked before they are all gone. Can't help think there are solid vets (young and old) who would play for the vet minimum for an opportunity to play with the Spurs. Our roster as it sits, is a distant 2nd/3rd in the West.
Here's hoping the Spurs have a plan. Gasol is a good start, but we need much more.
Nice player in the regular season, but he was beyond terrible against the Thunder. He had the lowest net rating out of everyone on the team.
I'll always like D. West for opting out and playing for tge Spurs. He was a solid contributer during the season. He got stuck on McDyess island in the playoffs. Good pick up for GSW.
Dam FO. We could have started Dwest. Not even worth it for the minimum? :lmao Chinook
Saw that one coming a mile away...
Funny that West and Zaza are teammates now.
I don't get some of these guys. What satisfaction will there be in winning a championship on a team that no one has a chance of beating?
Glad he's gone.
West basically looked done to me last year.
Bu-bye.
West is basically a ring chaser.....No disrespect but West is washed up....
He'll be the only likeable player on that team.
West betting on the Warriors. Can't say I'm that sad to see him go. I'll miss his elbow jumper is all.
Hey he gave us a great discount is all I can say. AMF
Now you USA guys know how the rest of the world feels ever since 1992 :lol
But really, that's what I was thinking.. when will it become meaningless to win a title? How much more valuable will their careers be than Barkley's if they win like that?
But these players have seen Lebron. He can put the '92 squad into the Cavs and he will still get tons of credit and arguments of not having help if he loses. Maybe they know that not matter what, the mainstream media and history will be good to them for being champs.
League fucking sucks. Now this is the Heat from a few years ago. D-bags signing for minimum deals to chase that ring. Fuck them all.
Didn't west pass on the warriors to sign with the spurs last year? Good luck to him though.
I had some disappointment on West that game when Adams was hitting Spurs players cant remember which of our guys went to the floor and D West was standing there and I though NOW COMES THE NIGGA MOMENT and DWest walked around Adams staring at the floor, it was all fake fuck.
Little things like that keeps you away from winning series.
This is GS answer for replacing Bogut and battling Tristan Thompson and Stephen Adams? No big equals great reg season but not post season again.
Found out the hard way that West is a fake ass tough guy.
Good luck to him though but fuck the Warriors.
This. His defense sucked against Kanter and Adams. Also his hard fouls and intimidation tactics didn't work against those 2. I pretty much started to hate him when he committed stupid costly fouls in the thunder series that cost the spurs momentum in some of the games.
He took minutes from Boris & now he's gone to the enemy! Played horribly! Good riddance! Smh

Scary thought: David West leaving the Spurs to join the Warriors.
Bye felicia, good riddance D-Worst scumbag :lol
They sucked in the OKC series, sure. But they were all above average players for their position by any advanced metric (RPM, WAR, etc.) and there's no way we would've won 67 games without them.
There's probably no way we'll reach 67 wins again this season without them either. And there's no one we can sign in the open market with our limited financial resources that can replace their production.
I'm glad he's gone, tbh, and it wasn't really his fault... Pop just overplayed him a lot against OKC and it allowed a scrub like Kanter to shine...
Been hoping the same happens to Bonner for the past 6 years, tbh...
West has always been a fiery guy. At times, he was a borderline head-case, because he let his anger get the best of him, and lost his composure way too much. And he hurt his teams at critical times with that stuff. He's been better about that on-court for the last several years. But if he was going to be here with a chip on his shoulder towards the team (Pop?), then it's a lot better that he moved on. He's a guy who couldn't let it go.
Fake thug.
Gee I wonder who will be a better strategic coach for him, Pop or Kerr?
Yea that comment that he felt disrespected... I can think of two things: Spurs came at him with a min salary offer and he felt he should have gotten Pau Gasol money.. a likely scenario that if they were going to re-sign him he wanted to get paid.
The other scenario is the following, and something we had already started to see last season, if you want to stop hating Fathead for one second. Pop must have told him they planned to distributed some bench PF minutes for Kyle. This had already started last season, it's not like it's news for anyone. And he didn't like that shizz, or the possibility he was going to continue to get played out of position as a Center. And veterans of his nature are not always ready to defer to youngsters when they feel they can play. You can see how SJAX got himself kicked out of the team (didn't he have jealousy towards Danny Green?). I think possible resentment was a'brewing there.
So does anyone want to guess on why David West felt disrespected? Timvp said D West felt disrespected and that is why he left. Was it a money thing? Was he expecting the Spurs to pay him more money after taking a discount last off-season?
I thought it was Danny and Manu that he thought he was better than? I vaguely remember an interview after he got cut where he said something along the lines of that he didn't ever say that he's better than Kawhi, unless he was lying through his teeth during that interview? Kawhi is the only one he mentioned during the interview that he said he didn't say he was better than him. I don't recall him mentioning anyone else by name though.
:lol Spurs cut his buddy Rasual Butler to keep that shitty Ginger scrub. That probably pissed him off too.
Dude gave up $10mil for a ring, didn't happen with San Antonio, so Warriors on paper look like they will surely ring, but nothings a sure thing in the NBA. I'd imagine he will continue to ring chase till he gets one.
When did he change up his story? The interview I saw was from 2013, a short time after he was cut. It was nowhere near the time Kawhi won finals MVP. I'm pretty sure he made a point of it to say he's not better than Kawhi, but didn't mention Green or Manu, so I thought going by that, he meant he thought he was better than those two.
I really don't think West is a ring chaser. He wanted to play for the Spurs. He was a D Rob and Duncan fan, he wanted to play for them. Something obviously happened as he felt disrespected, but I just don't understand what he would have felt disrespected about. He didn't really play good enough to get a raise (if it was about money). He also got plenty of court time too, and he crapped out in the OKC series, so I just don't have any idea what his problem was.
It was Green and Manu that he would not admit were better than him.
Here's the excerpt from the story:
“I would never say a player is better than me when I know their (sic) not. Not for no one. #uandiknowwhatsgoingon”
Tuesday he revealed who he was talking about: Danny Green and Manu Ginobili.
Jackson insists Popovich wanted him to admit Green and Ginobili were better. More than likely, Popovich simply told Jackson they were better. That’s why they were playing instead of him.

Here's another quote from Danny Green in a USA Today article:
Green, who entered Game 6 as the favorite to win NBA Finals MVP if the Spurs could win it all, said Jackson's exodus was taken in stride by the Spurs.
"I didn't know what the discussion was; I heard rumors," Green said. "Obviously Jack is a great locker room guy. He's one of my favorites, regardless of the conversation he had with Pop or whatever it was. He thought that he should've been playing more minutes over me or whatever the conversation may be — I don't know what it was. He's one of my guys. He helped me grow as a player, made me become a better defender, tougher, all-around, everything. He helped us. We liked having him around. It was shocking to me, as I'm sure it was to everybody else. You obviously didn't want him to leave, but Pop thought it was best for the team and it seems to be working out."

I can't help but think if we played West more as a PF than C, and actually played him a lot with a proper C, we would have got more out of him.
Not sure we used him right aye
