God dammit Detroit, stop taking the Spurs' bigs.
They're building.a bigger fucking wall just like van gundy ordered :lol
If Duncan retires this weekend, Spurs can stretch Duncan's contract and match Detroit's offer, right? Since they have three days to match?
Matt Bonner is your new backup center
:pop: we dont need Boban, we have Bonner
Welp, gives me an excuse to go to a few more Pistons games this year
He'll get a ton of play in the East. Godspeed, Wun Wun.
I love Boban. Glad he's going to the East. He'll probably dominate in the land where David West can look like a legitimate inside presence.
Seems like a reasonable deal. Why aren't the Spurs matching?
Pop would never ever have trusted Boban.
Sucks. We only have about $6 million in cap left. Time to start chucking off dead weight...like Boban...he had a couple of "Blair" games against B team 2nd stringers. He isn't a fit in this league as a rotation player. The Pistons can keep taking our marginal bigs and over paying them for averages of 10 points and 8 rebounds between the two stiffs.
My god (assuming TIm and Bonner go) we'll have 1 big retained from last season, LMA. :lol
Spurs need to match if the great Tim GOATcan decides to retire. An average of $7 mill/yr is nothing in today's NBA for a rotation player tbh.
It'll be interesting to see what the Pistons do, going forward..they just lost Tolliver, so they technically have a slot at the backup 4, but Morris and maybe even Harris are both better suited to play the 4, nowadays..
They experimented with Baynes at the 4 next to Drummond, last year, but seems pretty iffy in today's league..definitely seems like they will be making more moves, though, I don't believe you can play Harris and/or Morris at the 3 full-time, spacing would be atrocious(especially since their backcourt can't shoot, either)..
EDIT: didn't they just sign White American Jon Leuer, too?:lol what a strange roster..
I'm almost certain that the Spurs have enough cap room. Also, I'm pretty sure teams can go over the cap to resign players already on their roster.
As much as I like Boban, he is just too slow to ever be a real rotational big against quality competition. Wish him well and he should thank the Spurs for getting him that contract :lol
