She can coast from here if it was up to her. Trump needs to get nasty and get her in trouble. Hillary got a 7 point average. That's pretty devastating.

That kind of lead doesn't erode by itself and if Trump just lays there and takes it, that average will just get bigger.

I doubt he does that. I think he is going to continue on with the same strategy that got him to this point. That strategy got him to a point where he is behind substantially in the polls and lacks the support of a large amount of Republicans. Those Republicans will still be willing to vote for him if he improves his image even slightly. They're waiting for it. They're practically begging for it. And they don't really care if it's an act.

Romney was actually right on foreign policy calling Russia the main adversaries. Obama was way off. Nor surprising got caught off guard by Russia and run out of the ME.

I'm really not trying to be offensive with that question, but it does provoke my curiosity.

One problem that Trump will face in the debates is that a lot of the things that have drawn criticism or concern recently are likely to come up again during the debates -- in particular his feud with the Kahn family, his feud with Judge Curiel, his allegedly frequent questions about why we're reluctant to use nuclear weapons, his Constitutionally-questionable positions on several matters, and his inability to simply disregard personal criticism. While he's generally done well in debates by using dogwhistle soundbytes that appeal to his particular base and keep everything in generalities and offer virtually no real substance, he's also not going to be able to hide behind having 85 other people on stage with him.

We'll see. My guess is that he'll either avoid the debates to the greatest extent possible or will insist that the debates include Johnson and Stein (and others, maybe) to give him some cover.
