What are we looking for from Parker?
He's averaging 10/5 on 46% so far this season. That's 13/7 per 36. Are we looking for more production overall? He's shooting a little worse than he normally does. What are his ideal numbers in your mind?

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
A net positive in adjusted on/off, BPM and RPM, like he was last October-December..
-
Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
About 9-11 ppg shooting about 50% with a positive RPM.

In the playoffs atleast. :lol

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
To retire.
Freeing up cap space

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
Getting rid of his dribble dribble dribble game unless the match up allowed it and totally blend in offensively with the new order. I can accept lower FG% if he took more open 3pt shots, and please work on that floaters rather than those inconsistent mid range jumpers.

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
What he's been doing these last few games on offense has been fine. Being a threat to drive and shoot while creating looks via drive and kick is what the team needs.
He'll need to find a way to at least be a C+ on defense though, that hasn't been the case for a while.

Agreed. I think he's played very well these past few games.
The rim protection is not what it used to be either, and that's a factor...

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
Parker back from injury is just what we need

To me TP's "dribble dribble" game is the equivalent of a running back who waits for the hole to open up in the offensive line. Yes, there are times when he does it, but it's helpful more times than not. It's the opposite of how Mills' high energy hot potato mentality often creates ineffective "ball movement." But overall, the idea that Parker is a ball-stopper isn't evidenced statistically. It's like the people that think Tony Romo throws a lot of interceptions. He doesn't compared to the rest of the league statistically and certainly didn't in the 4th quarter (otherwise he wouldn't have a top-5 QBR of all time and be the highest-rated 4th quarter QB of all time), but once people start a narrative, others start looking for it.

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
:lol people with the dribble dribble schtick are the same that like Cojo or Hill...
-
Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
I expect him to sign up to a Spurs message board with at least 3 alts, and have a schtick about himself being great from one alt while the other alts agree like clapping seals.
-
Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
Play like he did in the past 4 games would be a great start.

I think if Tony manages to be at 13/6 in 26 minutes, that would be quite enough if his turnovers can be kept at less than 2 a game and his shooting can be near the 46%-50% mark. And great if he can shoot consistently the 3 and keep it over 37%.
That´s a per 36 of 20/8, i think Tony can do it if he puts the work.

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
According to the Krew they want him to average 18ish ppg on 70% and 10 apg in his 15th season(probably still wouldn't be enough to appease them). While also not handling the ball at all aside from passing it to Kawhi so he can Kobe his way to 30 ppg.

Oh, right, the 2014 playoffs:
Parker: 17/5 on 49%
Mills: 7/2 on 45%
Mills almost had half of Parker's production on worse shooting.

I watched more than one game, which is what the stats posted respresent...the entire playoffs. Mills was almost half the player Parker was in that run.

:lmao:lmao:lmao
Too true....
If Tony can give the team similar production (10-13 PPG, 5-7APG & 47-50% FG%) to last year, without the second half free fall, and minimize his damage on defense that would be good enough.
Can't ask for much better from a guy with his mileage and injury history.

Re: What are we looking for from Parker?
Parker the past 2 seasons:..
2015-2016
2015 portion: 12.8 PPG on 58.9% TS
2016: 11.3 PPG on 51% TS
2014-2015
2014: 16.7 PPG on 58.5% TS
2015: 13.5 PPG on 51.8% TS
He hasn't been able to put together 2 consistent halves of a season since 2013-2014, unfortunately..you would have to be completely delusional to believe he will do it this season, considering his mileage and age..
This team is very poorly built and it will lead to their demise..they're still relying on Parker as the only real PG on the roster..they're still counting on Ginobili as the bench anchor..pathetic..
