So who do you think he's having a crack at, JohnMax?
What about flexing fat, flabby arms?

Clearly Jim from the Office.

Heh... if one of the "little people" in the stands made that same comment, Pop would swear that it was because they were racist.
BTW - I love the way the article calls Kawhi, "one of the best two-way forwards in the game". That's a demotion, IMO.
Curry/Durant/Green fit each of those lol
As I've been saying for years, Pop hates expressive Black men, tbh..I don't know why there are posters here that have the audacity to argue against it:lol
There's nothing wrong with dancing, showing emotions, etc..it's a game, it's supposed to be fun..
I'll never understand why white people hate watching niggas dance:lol
To be fair, regarding the Warriors, there's an egregious double-standard from the media, as I said in my "Warriors are pathetic" thread..even Steve Kerr agreed with me:lol..there's a reason Draymond is the only Warrior that receives hate, though..
You think pop has issues with black men showing emotions?
How many times have you seen Parker or Timmy or others celebrate big buckets at crucial points....with shouts, primal yells, fist pumps, high-fives, group hugs, pushing a teammate, etc.
And there's a difference between celebrating and showboating. I gather Pop has an issue with celebrating when it's seen as up staging your opponent. He's from a different time. And I tend to agree with him. It takes the attention from the team concept.
And I gather you have a problem with the light skinned brothers since you make a point to highlight Draymond Green?
Personally, I can't stand that shoulder shaking BS. And I'm glad my guys score and get back on D. Might have helped G State win an extra game or two in the finals. Instead they got bitch slapped by another team that was hungry for a common goal.
I don't think it's limited to Black men, but we are more likely to showboat/dance/celebrate, it's part of our culture(I do it when I play ball, too)..it's a product of Pop's military background + age, he doesn't condone that, which is fine..
The light-skinned factor is definitely in play for the Warriors(ESPN even had an article about light skinned bias:lol they keep biting my shit), but it's more related to "non-threatening" appearance(individuals with darker skin are usually perceived as more threatening, though)..Durant isn't light-skinned, but he's also "non-threatening"..Curry has light skin, but the double-standard isn't necessarily due to that, but rather due to his appearance that resembles a 12-year old..
Thank god Simmons isn't on the Warriors. He'd be having epileptic seizures with those clowns as examples.
Pop was fine with Stephen Jackson during our first run. He's one of the most demonstrative guys out there. Don't think race has anything to do with it. He's just not a fan of the extra BS when guys make a basketball play, which I get.
If Pop didn't keep player emotions in check they'd think kicking opponents in the nuts is a good way to channel negative emotion.
I already said it isn't limited to Black men, but we are more likely to be the showboating type..I can't play basketball without doing it, tbh..
And Pop tolerated Jackson for like 1 season:lol They had a contentious relationship, otherwise..
I don't have a problem with Pop disliking it, I'm just saying, it isn't arguable that he dislikes that type of player..Danny Green would have never even seen the floor had he danced the same way he did with Lebron:lol
I don't mind players showing some personality. Sure, it can go a little too far at times, but I'm all about a little show to entertain the fans. If I was making those shots on that stage, I'd let the world know. We don't all have to be Tim Duncans.
I can play basketball perfectly fine without it, but I was never into that. I played with dudes like that, and it annoyed the hell outta me. It was fun trying to shut em up.
You are right though about who tends to do it more, but at the same time, it's for the most part a predominantly black sport.
Gotta wonder if Pop would be cool with this though...
THIS. As a lifelong Spurs fan who's always been from the SF Bay Area, I became a Spurs fan in '89 solely because I looked up to David Robinson as a role model and I loved the way he carried himself. His way of being influenced the franchise and they continue that demonstration of class and professionalism to this day which I appreciate. I was always brought up with the belief that arrogance is one of the worst traits a person can have and I'm a minority, too who's liberal as FUCK. This isn't a black/white/latino thing, despite what others here think. It's simply about class and humility. These players are getting paid millions to play a game...THAT alone should be fun. This shimmy shit and flexing muscles shit is high school garbage grown men shouldn't be doing, IMO, regardless of your race/ethnic background.
Most these sports stars are of the man-child variety, and only really grow up in their 30s because we let them get away with thinking they're the most important people in the world. I'm so happy that I'm a spurs fan, and that our team and player culture supersedes that mentality.
