Best non-rookie contract in the league besides Wardell.:wow
P.S. Trade Pau for Lucas Nogueira.:wakeup

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
This is why he's going to get paid this summer, tbh... hopefully contract year Patty has some excellent playoffs...

He will get paid and Spurs probably will pay him.
I mean I wonder what agent ppl think Spurs will get when they have a history of retaining the guys who produce for them and Pop loves him.

Talking like a veteran Spurs poster. dap.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
I doubt the Spurs will pay him what other teams can offer if Tony isn't willing to come off the bench, tbh...
-

Spurs gave him big contract when he had shoulder surgery
Dude should sign for peanuts

He'll probably make 14mil a year next contract. That's cheap too. What's the cap expected to be? 100mil? That's expected for the time of impact he brings to the Spurs.

No doubt. Although he did mention he'd like to start.... and he should. But the Spurs will honor Tony's wishes, IMO.

Tony is 100% not gonna be a starter next year.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
If I destroyed the guy ahead of me in international competition and outplayed him during the season I'd feel like I deserved to start too, tbh.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
Well, Patty certainly knows how to close out quarters for the Spurs. Pop needs to have him in there the last 2 minutes of every quarter. Period.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
The point guard is hard to play also hard to play with 7 new players learning where people want ball
and missing games
Patty IS NOT a point guard

Not at this point. It's just not Tony's team anymore... and once Manu retires it may be time to enter a new era for him (though who knows if Manu retires?).
I mean I don't have a crystal ball, but I am sure the two of them and Pop can work it out. It doesn't seem to me like Tony and Patty have any issues among themselves... and at least publicly Tony always says the right things... and Murray is not ready, he should barely start to get schooled by Pop next season, maybe take Manu's spot of this season if he retires or Simmons if he is not retained.
I mean I think of all the Spurs FA for next summer:
Dedmon, (definite P0)
Simmons,
maybe Lee (P0),
Nico,
Patty
I think Patty gets priority.
but again no crystal ball.
I just think he will be resigned and I admit I have changed my tune. I wasn't that sure before. However, he's playing really well and I don't think there are realistic FA PG out there and every new guy you introduce is a question mark (like Lamarcus, you just don't know what you get until you have him, same with Pau, etc). Meantime Pop already knows Mills, he fits in, he knows Pop's system etc.
I am sure they want to retain all those guys but they probably need to prioritize.

$102 million
I expect something in the 4 year $52-56 million range

I fully expect Parker to be off the bench next season, with Mills back as a starter. Parker off the bench brings up another issue of bench floor spacing but that's for another time.

Lamarcus at 197...
nearly the entire team roster ahead of him:
Aside from Kawhi and Patty... all of Danny, Lee, Pau, Simmons, Ginobili, Anderson... all ahead of Lamarcus...

If you do that, Pop will just pick up an unsigned washed up TOSB PG to replace Porker in the SL.
-
Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
Patty is a really good player now. I think the Spurs want him back and will pay him good money to anchor the second unit.
Not sure that a starting point guard role is good for him full time - Manu got paid well to be a difference maker for a lot of years on the second five.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
That's shameful. If Porker had any integrity, he'd agree to come off the bench for MVPatty (much like Antonio Daniels did for him in 2001), and he'd give MVPatty a cut of his absurd salary while he's at it. Porker is one of the most selfish cancers in NBA history.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
If Parry gets PAID, can Pop STILL make him come from the bench? Is that something the FO will allow?
Maybe it doesnt make sense for the FO to do that. They wont fire Pop...
If he is not starting and getting minutes, Spurs can use that money to get some other player that Pop will play.
At the end of the end, to be efficient, more money shold means more minutes..otherwise, it doesnt make sense.
It all depends on how much money Parry gets offered from other teams.

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
“It shouldn’t take (Pop) doing what he did to get us going,” said Patty Mills, who scored 16 on 4 of 7 shooting from deep. “No more messing around.”

Re: MVPatty is a top 30 player on RPM in the league 2nd best Spurs Impact wise: 3mila
That was back then.
This season in a far longer period since its almost half the season, the spurs have the following players in top ranking per ESPN:
40. Pau
63. Lamarcus
66. Kyle
89. Danny
93. Rudy
Other Spurs:
113. Davis
133. Kawhi (It has to be noted that it's a super small sample of minutes with kawhi and the numbers reflect the Spurs lost a majority of the games with him coming back bc they had trouble scoring... that should change with time but as of right now that is where he stands).
146. Patty
154. Dijon (massive negative offensively)
201. Manu
338. Tony
388. Joffrey
423. Bryn
Make of ESPN RPM whatever you want...
